    In Metal Gear Solid 3, after the failure of Virtuous Mission, Johnson helped orchestrate Operation Snake Eater in an attempt to dissuade the Soviet Union from retaliating with nuclear force. This mission had Naked Snake infiltrating the Soviet Union once again. After Snake returned from his mission in the USSR, Johnson bestowed upon him the rank of "Big Boss." He was voiced by Richard McGonagle.
