Anyone know how damage is figured for the hunter's leap?

I've realized it's all about the scratch now anyhow, but I'm interested.

I don't think the leap does damage at all, you start doing damage once you are on top of them and the crosshair circle thing fills all the way up.

Depending how far/high you are from the target increase a bonus leap damage before you even get a hit.

It does damage. The higher you are in the air, if you land directly on top of someone the impact is much greater. Its possible to take someone from full HP to yellow health just with the initial leap in certain parts of the maps if you get a well placed jump.

Maximum damage is something like 25. Jump height is the important calculation, do something like wall jumping or jumping off a roof.

The Height has no modifiyer, I've tested this and even jumping directly into the air and falling 3 stories onto a survivor it'll do like 3 damage on impact. It's all about lateral distance, if you can get a very long jump and land on them you'll do alot of damage. Now, I don't even bother much about trying to catch the straggler and get a few swipes in then get shunted off moments later, I either try and get 1/4 from the impact or just go in and sratch 'em a few times.

Yeah it seems like it is distance, I tagging someone from the barn roof in part 4 of Blood Harvest and got 20 dmg, it was about as far as I could possibly go. On the other hand falling from the sky in No Mercy's beginning rooftops did nowhere near as much.

It's made playing a hunter fun again, but even with my perfectly executed 20 damage, I coulda done that in 2 scratches, and they way more effective in general.

It's easy to hit, you run hella fast, you look pretty much like a normal zombie, and you move silently. You can hit people right out in the open most of the time if they are just moving forward.

Now I just need to figure out how to use the smoker in general situations.
