    Gillian Anderson was born on August 9, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois and at the age of twenty moved to New York to become an actress. She eventually landed the role of Dana Scully, a skeptical partner to Fox Mulder, the FBI's paranormal investigator in charge of the X-Files. on the long running television show, The X-Files for about nine years.  Agent Scully is her most recognizable character to date and has appeared in the film adaptations of the show, the most recent being released in 2008 as well as lending her likeness and voice to the video game adaptations of the same series.
