I knew Missile was cool, having seen the quicklook and all.

Having a portable console for the first time, I finally got aroung to playing Ghost Trick. Well, Missile is the best. The cute little doggie waited ten years for the opportunity to save his family. He's totally devoted, curiously touching and definitely insane.

It is probably too late, but I feel like Missile deserves recognition. He's the best thing ever.

That dog seemed like it would be a pretty insignificant piece of the story. Mostly just there for comedic purposes, but what they did with him...wow. Ghost Trick is definitely one of the best games pretty much ever (despite like an 83 Metacritic score).

Although I liked the game, there are characters that are better in my opinion, like Francis York Morgan (Deadly Premonition), James Sunderland (Silent Hill 2) and Revan (Knights of The Old Republic).

Pretty much. He's already good from the start, but then you finish the game and it's just... Yeah... This game is so good !

I think I had a bigger emotional response during the conclusion of Ghost Trick than I did during the end of Brothers (even though I actually have a brother). The twist(s) at the end are fantastic!

@quantris: I think part of that emotional response to all those twists is because Ghost Trick had the same layered, back and forth reveals as an Ace Attorney game, except you actually gave a shit about many of the characters involved. The characters in Ghost Trick are much better and more interesting than in Ace Attorney where they're all cartoonish, one-note cardboard cut-outs that are all way too jokey for me to care about THAT much.

That's honestly probably why Edgeworth is one of the fan favourite characters (aside from Phoenix). Because Edgeworth doesn't have some stupid fucking OCD gimmick that warps their entire character. Edgeworth doesn't have a stupid fucking whip, or an endless cup of coffee, or a dumb Bono impersonation. He's just like, a cool dude, who is almost like Phoenix if he just ended up down a slightly different life path.

I just get so frustrated by Ace Attorney, because it could be nearly as good as Ghost Trick, except they insist are making every character irritatingly shallow except for like a couple recurring main characters.

@bisonhero: I very much disagree with this. I really liked Ghost Trick when I played it, but in retrospect there are only two characters that were truly memorable, that being Sissel and Missle, and they're some of the most over the top characters in the game. I have very distinct and fond memories of countless characters throughout Ace Attorney though.

I can confirm that Missile is pretty great. I don't remember if the game got overlooked during that year's GOTY discussions, but I feel like it did. It's an amazing game.

@golguin: Dunno, I should listen to the podcasts again (any opportunity is good).

I wouldn't mind the game not being on their list, but MISSILE (!) has to have some kind of mention, right ?
