Are shitty invitations a standard now?

So over the years ive noticed more and more people just using shitty invitations made using word/publisher, Is this becoming a standard?

Who gives a fuck about the invitation as long as it contains the important info?

Care to explain this in more than one line?

Yeah, I need more info. What kind of invitations are we talking about? And why am I not getting any? >.>

Like party invitations. My line of thinking is that rather than waste paper on your crappily made invitation, why not just tell me the details.

People give out party invitations? Most people I know would just ring someone up or send a text. 

Oh, well I never get invited to parties. So, I hope you have much fun at your precious parties *runs away crying*

I haven't invited people to a party since I was 12 and I'm 21 so I'm a bit out of the invitation "scene"

Either way they've been kind enough to invite you to something no need to be an ass about it. =/

I have never received a physical invite to a party.

I thought the topic said "innovations" and was expecting a thread bitching about regenerating health. This is somehow worse.

there are no invites anymore. it is just kind of like hey i'm having a party come at this time and that time.

For my 18th Birthday Party I made a series of cards that read like key cards. 
 
They were narrow at 1inch by 5 inches. Each one had a barcode, and all the information on one side and said Brad's Pool Hall Party on the other side. They were even individually laminated. Man I was excited and creative. And everyone had their own name typed on it as well.

templates? is laziness a new standard? nah, it's the old standard...
