Loved

Loved at its most basic level is a simple platformer, but beyond that it is an interesting look at authority and the effect it has on an individual. Throughout the game, the player is berated and praised depending on their action by a mysterious authority figure. Depending on how the player responds to this mysterious and ominous figure, the visuals of the game world will change. Obey and the world become clearer, but it remains monochromatic and dull. Disregard the authority figure and the world fills with color, but in return the world become more difficult to interpret. I cannot recommend this game enough, and it is truly an experience one should have for themselves.

Gravity Bone

First off, Gravity Bone has fantastic style. From the great soundtrack to the blockhead character design and the off-kilter humor, it is truly a unique experience. The player takes on the role of a spy tasked with several nonviolent wetworks jobs; from planting a tracking bug (literally a bug) in the drink of “the man with red hair” to photographing several exploding birds. Gravity Bone will charm the pants off of you, and just as it ends you’ll be begging for more. Did I mention it’s all made in the Quake 2 engine?

One Chance

One Chance is another game that has to be played to be appreciated. Players are tasked with saving a world they destroyed over the course of several days. And where other games give the player multiple chances when they fail, One Chance lives up to its name by giving the player only one chance to make the right choice. Regardless of how you play the game, it’s going to be a pretty dark experience, but one worth having, and there is something oddly effecting about having every choice be my own, forever.

One Chance is just another bullcrap artsy game...

Gravity Bone, however, is amazing.

Just played through Gravity Bone and One Chance, both very neat.

Gravity Bone has kind of a Perfect Dark/NOLF/Hitman vibe to it, short game (20mins, 2 levels), but extremely high production values for such a short and free indie title. Only part I found a little confusing was the exit at the second level, thought I did something wrong and hit reload pretty much instantly, not realizing that the game continues after that.

One Chance is also great, again very short (10mins), reminded me of Passage, except with a doomsday plot and some dialog thrown in. I would have liked some more interaction with the environment and I could have done without the gimmick limitation to one playthrough (easily fixed by clearing local Flash storage), it would also have been nice to have a "The End" to really show you that you reached the end and the game just didn't get stuck, but that aside, really nicely done.

The first and last look too artsy for me, Gravity Bone however looks right up my alley.
