Thirty Flights of Giving Away Games

It's that time of year again! First it was World Of Goo, then Solar 2, now it's the Idle Thumbs classic Thirty Flights of Loving! This was one of the year's most interesting games, and definitely worth a play.

The giveaway isn't going to be quite as straightforward as previous years. Everything has seemed pretty terrible outside of my little bubble lately, and it's spoiling the view. As such, I would like to see it improved somewhat. Since this is technically a Christmas giveaway, I don't feel too bad about enlisting you to help. Onward lies "the deal":

I'm going to bed shortly. Before I wake up/have time to read everything, do something to decrease the world's suckiness level. Give a homeless person some food. Donate something to charity. Punch a racist. It's really up to you. My only stipulation is that it must not be something done exclusively for your family and/or close friends. If you did something recently, I might count that if it was really good. The point is, post a little description of your good deed here. I will use my special-secret philosophy major skills to select which people get free games for their goodness.

I should probably also mention that I do not have infinite money, and I can't guarantee that all submitting users will get a copy of Thirty Flights. Of course, I'll scrounge up some additional cash if I find the decision too difficult to bear.

Also, I donated 2 games ($40) to Childs Play and gave a man with no legs on the train a dollar. So there's that.

I was really disappointed in it after all the hype it was getting from Idle Thumbs, it's original, but that's it, I liked the free game that came with it a lot more than this game...

I just bought it for 2.50, I played their other game which the name escapes me and that was pretty good! Pretty psyched for it myself. So suck it people, you should try to get this game.

I got the humble bundle for a friend and set it to give all of the money to child's play. That counts as a good deed right?

Fuck it, I'm buying it.

I already love the game so I don't need the giveaway, definitely in my Top 10 for best storytelling this year with first and most effective use of jump cuts in a game ever.

I gave away my christmas bonus money to a local coffee shop. I just told them to let the money cover as many drinks/pastries as it could. Should also note and say that my christmas bonus (first time I ever got one actually) was only $50 on a visa gift card and I thought there was someone else more deserving so thought what better than my local coffee shop.

Thirty Flights is a sweet game, though. You shitty do-gooders should play it.

Last Friday, my friends and I had our annual Xmas dinner, and through a series of unfortunate/fortunate events that I don't need to go into detail about, we ended up going to a restaurant and sitting at a table that had unlimited beer. It was quite magical.

As such, I was offering out free pints of beer to surrounding tables and passerby strangers for some holiday cheer.
