Red text links

Does anyone know why they didn't go with actual red text? It looks hot pink and it being contrasted with actual red text on the web page is breaking my brain a bit.

Yeah I didn't want to be picky because I'm super glad the red links are back but the colour is very off from what it used to be. Interestingly it seems like the "Reply" and other such buttons on forum threads have also become this bright red colour. I think it just needs to be a bit darker. Technically it might be the same colour used in the new Giant Bomb logo I guess? It doesn't look too far off.

I'm kind of into it, to be honest.

It's definitely not a standard red. But I also have no problem with it.

@bollard: Not sure if it counts as an actual bug though, lol. I just don't get it and I'm not sure that they would actually respond.

@efesell: I agree. It stands out and it goes with the ultra vibrant 80's sunset look I use for most of my devices.

I like it. It's much better than underlined white text.

It’s a bit of a weird color but as others have said it’s a tremendous upgrade from the previous strictly monochrome look which I’m sure sounded a lot better on paper than turned out in execution.

I love it. I think it looks super! #ff1f52 is going on my list of favourites palette.

I love the shade of red they chose. It isn't the same but I think it's a good choice.

Now this weird orange though? Hatin it.

This orange color itself is kind of ugly, but I find it a lot easier to read than the red.

I like the orange. It works well with the dark grey.

This is nearly the same colour as my foobar2000 setup so it's actually pretty cozy for me. And it is a lot easier on the eyes than the pink was. I'll be curious to see what they go back to after Halloween.

The orange is much appreciated. I like the highly contrasting colors and the orange doesn't hurt my eyes. Solid stuff.

Love the orange. I actually wouldn't mind if they kept this long term.

I actually kind of like this orange, even if it is for Halloween. I can actually read the links now. It's readable without the harshness of the fuchsia.

Having now watched a few QLs, bummed around the forums a bit, gone into the comments... I'm one thousand percent on board with keeping the orange long-term. It looks really good on my phone, too. I really, really like it.

I regret this topic bump, I have given power to this tyranny of orange.

Am I crazy or did the orange just get brighter? Now it seems just as unreadable for me as the red was.

I don’t like it, it was red for the past 10 years of the site and I never had a problem. Accessibility is important but red looked cooler imo 😎

. . . and now we're back to the unreadable fuchsia. The orange was fun while it lasted.

It's the off-red pink for me. Gotta say the orange felt a bit washed out, while this red still seems too intense. Guess you just can never please people.
