Hey all, on the last Hotspot, they discussed the quick look where Jeff fell off the side of the banister. I listen to it on audio, so can someone please link me to that again?
I remember it the first time and remember the threads of "is Jeff OK?"
@hatking: Hey. They're professionals. If Jeff wants to get all hopped up on energy drinks and try BASE jumping off a railing that's not going to stop them from doing their dang job!
Yeah I'm a little disappointed to find out that it was a work, but still it's one of my favorite GB moments.
I think that makes it a little more magical. A work being completely indistinguishable from a shoot is what it's all about, after all.
No one falls like that naturally.
I didn't realize you were the Grand Arbiter of Humans Falling Down as Captured By The Internet.

Not a fan of simple American humour is all.
@rebel_scum: prat falls are funny, no matter where you come from.

Sorry brah. But in most places if its too obvious, it aint funny.
@rebel_scum: You have totally misunderstood the context for this. Of course it's not that funny in the context of a forum thread about a pratfall. That's like telling someone the punchline to a joke and then telling the joke. It's not going to hit.
In context it came out of nowhere and people weren't focused on Jeff, they were paying attention to the guys actually streaming, and that's what made it funny. It was a totally absurd thing that just happened out of nowhere in the background. And people laughing at it now remember that context.
If you call attention to the joke ahead of time then the joke doesn't work, but lots of jokes are like that.
@bigsocrates: Yeah I didnt miss that context. Obviously its a stream where Brad and Ryan were the main focus.
I recommend faving obscure videos like that. Never know when you have a bad day and just need to hear Jeff talk about WiiWare games to make life seem not so oppressively negative.
@chiefbeef123: I started watching GB early, and it was Ryan's attitude that got me interested. I wasn't a Gamespot person, so I didnt really know the guys except as a name on a review here and there. I used to get most of my news from IGN. But finally someone legitimately happy about video games, at a time when everyone was serving up cutting cynicism out of a fire hose.
Are you saying it was staged? How do we know this?
Check the Hotspot from a couple weeks ago like the OP says. They discussed it there.
