Who still plays doom?
This might sound corny, but is a tradition of mine to play Doom every Christmas Eve when I get home from at night from visiting the family. The tradition stems back to when a friend of mine and I used to co-op that night, jokingly saying we would celebrate the birth of Jesus by killing his enemies :)
The same friend and I actually, back on December 14th (2007), we celebrated Doom's 14th birthday by playing it on his XBox360.
I personally prefer to play it on the PC using the Doomsday engine. Using the 3d models, particle effects, and hi-res textures, it's almost like playing a new game.
"I actually play the 360 arcade version of doom occasionallySame, I like to start up Doom on my 360 every once and a while.

Doom is free, go look up FreeDoom.
I hate to admit that I was one of those people who missed it back in the day - I was a Wolf 3D person, instead. I have to say that I don't believe Doom has aged that well - it's a nice game, for sure, but compared to newer games, it's rather weak.
Sometimes.
If you have xfire, you can out: http://www.xfire.com/clans/classicdoom/ 80 dudes & dudettes who still play doom.
I downloaded the Doom Pack during Steam's crazy sale. Still love the game as much as I did when I first played it. The level designs are great...the Doom engine was pretty powerful.
The graphics were pretty pixelated, making it hard to see things, and the mouse control was bad, so I went and got ZDoom...makes the game look and play ten times better. :D

I like to use the JDooM engine as well, it runs better on my XP machine than my Vista machine for some reason.

I play a bit of Doom every now and then. For a while I was playing all of the weird Doom updates like jDoom and zDoom, 'cause Doom with jumping and mouse look is crazy. Last year a friend and I played some sort of co-op Doom thing. Weird.
When I play classic Doom I like to play it keyboard only.
I remember when I went to high school we would play Doom over LAN. We used to play the original Unreal Tournament but they banned it after the junior side started playing it. Good times, good times.
