The game rates your freestyling skills by some unknown, hidden criteria.  Has anybody discovered the key to a good freestyle?  Is it staying on beat?  Varying it up?  Going hog wild?

I usually end up with B's, and the perfectionist in me would love to nab some A's.

Talk about how the room you're in smells like a vault. I hear that works.

It says in the tutorials that it rates you on beat, variety and staying in tune with the song.

Why don't you be a decent human being and recognize this is a video game website and not be such a fuck-witted troll.

Apparently you believe there are no people out there who might own real turntables AND a copy of DJ Hero 2?  Actually I'm going to choose to believe you were drunk when you came in here and shat the bed rather than just being inherently blindingly stupid.

    Yo, brothas, let's be civil.

Anyways, I find it best that you do your best in imitating the current mix's rhythm. It is difficult for songs you aren't as familiar with or enjoy but, yes, though these "freestyling" sections may seem to reward originality, or straight up bullshitting really, but I found going with "it" entails a greater reward.

Yeah I got flame-baited - I totally admit it.  Just when I saw the topic I thought  "How interesting, I too wonder about this subject", and to see this tedious old unhelpful attitude set me off.

Familiarity with the songs definitely seems most vital for freestyle crossfades, once you know what each part does you can create some fun back and forths - but even if it sounds good to me, I have no idea how it translates into score.  You just get points tacked on at the end of each section without much time to see how many and think about if that amount means "good".  What I like about the game is that there are so many ways/opportunities/methods to earn and maximize points.  Some of these are a concrete strategy, but freestyle sections seem to be a matter of just going with what you feel and trusting that you'll improve over time.
