None of these criticisms will detract from your enjoyment, provided all you want from a game is the opportunity to repeatedly turn evil monsters into red mush in gorgeous HD detail. Dead Space easily delivers on that promise, but fails to turn its polished production values into something truly memorable over the long haul.

I'm still particularly interested in this. It's generated enough buzz to warrant a purchase from me.

Even with Eurofagets 7, Dead Space sits on a 9.0 average over 12 reviews.

Who gives a crap? If the review says the game is great, play it. That's why stars are better than numerical ratings, there is no need for meticulous attention to factors that do not at all enhance or detract from the experience."

While you can hit Eurogamer with the "but they gave MGS4 an 8" line - I still actually think 7 is an awesome score. If that's the harshest treatment it's gonna get then the games gotta be a good'un.

I don't care what anyone has to say about this game, I'm still excited enough to buy it on release.

I forget whether or not Eurogamer goes by the 5-average like EGM used to.  That would make the 7 = very good rating make sense.
