Fucking bullshit!! god janky controls cant shoot astroids one minute. I donT hAve a mInUte!! AHHH!
Dead Space
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Oct 14, 2008
Engineer Isaac Clarke battles a polymorphic virus-like alien infestation that turns human corpses into grotesque undead alien monsters called "Necromorphs" while trying to survive on board an infested interstellar mining ship named the USG Ishimura.
Bullshit astroid segment ruining this game
I don't know why people are having a problem with this. I was pretty intimidated when I got to the asteroid shooting section, but ended up doing it easily in one try. You just need to shoot constantly alternating back and forth between the two guns. Sweeping the guns around the screen while firing seems to work better than trying to aim precisely.
It only took me two trys, what is annoying is I didn't even notice that you could use both barrels of the gun. L1 for secondary fire.
Wow, I didn't have any trouble with this at all. Beat that segment my first time....now getting the trophy for that part took me like 4 times but that's besides the point. I didn't have a problem with it.
yeah that part bugged me too , it just felt weird like it was forced into the game or something. and BTW Jollyrajah how could reading the title possibly spoil the story for anyone.
The asteroid segment kicked my ass the first time, but after hopping online and seeing the deelio about using both guns, I got through it on the second play.
That wasnt that hard. Beat it on my first try. Also got the trophy for getting above a certain percentage.
Just aim at the asterioid and shoot. Using L1 and R1
Got it on my 5th time. The trick is to use both guns, but to time it right so that they act as a machine gun. Then if you aim, you'll hit most of them long before they come anywhere near you.
Yeah, it was assy. They should have put a target lock or something. Same here about the left blaster, didnt know until my third try.
I got through it first time although i'm ashamed to admit I was on 1% hull integrity.
If I can do it first time it can't be that hard.
"Yeah, it was assy. They should have put a target lock or something"
That would have defeated the point of the whole scene, the whole reason you have to do it manually is because the targeting system is down and you have to go and fix it.
it is the lamest part of the game, and gave me the most trouble, mainly because of the point-of-view. The only reason it's even there is a storytelling rule of showing something that will be pivotal later on for reference. Although quite honestly they could've done without both segments since they feel like cheap segments and the boss fight one is far less difficult than the training one.
It reminded me of a game that quite possibly might have served as inspiration, but it's so obscure I can't believe it's more than a coincidence, an old Mega Drive game called Psy-O-Blade. It was an adventure game that took place on a spaceship, you were part of a crew on some mission of some sort, and people were starting to get killed. You eventually find out who/what is doing it and so on and so forth. It was basically a point-and-click game with detective elements, but one part of the game had you in a mechsuit shooting asteroids that were going to destroy the ship. The mechanic was very similar to how Dead Space did it, just more Anime since it was a Japanese game.
"Fucking bullshit!! god janky controls cant shoot astroids one minute. I donT hAve a mInUte!! AHHH!Wait until the end for janky controls. This part is ridiculous. stupid."
How I managed to survive on Impossible, first try with 51% shield strength remaining is beyond me. I think luck is a big factor in that part of the game, having played through at least four times already.
"Well, here's what I'll say: if you haven't played the first asteroid part on Impossible yet...then you have no IDEA how fucking frustrating it can be. Randomly shooting does NOT work."Was there a difference in the asteroid part? I thought that it stayed the same, no matter the difficulty.
This level reminds me of the GOW2 segment that does the same thing, except with Reavers. I HATE TURRET SEGMENTS!!!
lol i beat it first try man. wasn't that hard. don't see what the big deal is. i thought it was fun.
"This level reminds me of the GOW2 segment that does the same thing, except with Reavers. I HATE TURRET SEGMENTS!!!"Yea and when you're playing alone Dom doesnt even use the other turret. What a ballsac.
"lamegame621 said:I know, right? Pretty hard when your playing on the harder difficulties. Anyway, I beat THIS turret part by taking a break and coming back to it, simple as that."This level reminds me of the GOW2 segment that does the same thing, except with Reavers. I HATE TURRET SEGMENTS!!!"Yea and when you're playing alone Dom doesnt even use the other turret. What a ballsac."
"yeah that part bugged me too , it just felt weird like it was forced into the game or something. and BTW Jollyrajah how could reading the title possibly spoil the story for anyone.""Woah, woah, woah, this game is set IN OUTER SPACE? What the fuck, man!?"
I got this on my first try, too. It's that hard? I only remember there being one gun too. :S
