    Overview

Daisuke Gouri was a prolific Japanese voice actor that died on January 17, 2010 at the age of 57. Of his video game roles, some of his most prominent were in the fighting genre. He voiced characters such as Soul Calibur's Edge Master, Dead or Alive's Bass Armstrong, and Heihachi Mishima of the Tekken series. After his passing, Namco Bandai avoided the task of recasting the elderly Heihachi for subsequent games such as Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 3D Prime Edition by using a younger version of the character with a recognizably younger voice. Other roles he took over the years include Dragon Ball characters such as Mr. Satan (Hercule in the English dub), Shingen Takeda in the Samurai Warriors series, and several characters in Star Fox 64, including General Pepper, Andross, and Pigma Dengar, the latter of which he also voiced in Star Fox Assault.
