Do you know the feeling, if you wanna love something/somebody, but feel like everyone is trying to put you off? 
 Well, that's the way I feel about Battlefield 1943. 
  
After playing about 12 hours, I start to hate the game. Well, not the game, because it's fun. But the people playing the game ...who are just sucking the fun for me. 
First off, I think it's save to say, that Battlefield games are Team-Games. It's about winning as a team, and more importantly to play as a team to achieve that. 
But most people playing Battlefield 1943 are playing a deathmatch-game. I often think, that they just don't get what the game is about. 
 
So not only most of them just run around firing in the air, if there is no other target in sight. But most of them do so, out of a squad. Which doesn't help the cause. I just finished a set of 3 games, where there were no (0) squads in my team.  
 
This behaviour is starting to annoy me a lot. When people just wait at the base for the plane to respawn. When they storm away, though they should help defend the flag. When they are in the gunner position in a vehicle and are either shooting trees heating up the gun, so they can't fire at enemies, when they pop up, or worse not shooting at people in our back firing at us.  
 
Another interessting question is, why no one ever uses his headset? Is there no support for it, like there is in every other game? As none of my friends are playing this game, I can't find out. Because whenever I am in a game, no one is talking or responding ..and usually you can't focus on any game because of these chatterboxes on Xbox Live. 
 
Well .. as I don't have another game at the moment I like playing as much as Battlefield 1943, I see myself going back to this abusive bitch as often as I can. But I don't like it, like I used to...

Most people who play I'd imagine are in a party like most games, having fun with their friends.
Fun isn't just winning, they're having fun with the game and if they can keep a game fun, I applaud it. It may be annoying but as both teams are often in the same boat, if you really wanted to go for the win, just get yourself in a party with people, even if it's randoms, you could just try inviting team mates that are in the same game and see where it leads.

I imagine the PC version is going to turn out a bit better than the console versions. The always do... at least, to me.

People have always been like that on every Battlefield game.  I remember I was in one game and only like three people left the battleship and about eight or nine people just waited for planes to respawn, it was ridiculous

I wait for the plane to spawn because I use it. I get 10 to 15 kills per game sniping from the air and killing tanks, and shooting landing craft. It does help the team when I'm killing enemies that are rushing a check point.
 
My biggest gripe is when I'm flying around trying to cut down enemies and none of my team mates are going for flags in the first few minutes. I've had games where its like two red flags, and no blue flags after the first two minutes. Like what the hell is my team doing?

Play with friends. It's the only way to play as a team.

Don't even attempt to play as a team with people you don't know. It never works and most of the time they don't have mics. Play as a team when your friends are on and go Rambo when they aren't. It is a great balance, trust me.

I don't use my headset because i dont want to talk to you, or hear your, on someone else's 15 year old voice.
 
I DO however want to play as a teammate and think as a team. I think you're right when you say that people are approching this game the wrong way by thinking its a deathmatch.

You have to develop a different mindset  as infantry I always get a lot less kills than as rifleman, but I kill a few tanks each round which the other classes find difficult to cope with.
