There’s More Walking Dead Coming Before Season Two

Apparently the next season is a ways off, but "something" is being cooked up before then.

Nope, those aren't tears in my eyes. It's allergies.

We already knew Telltale Games would be producing another season of The Walking Dead, but apparently the wait’s going to be a little bit easier. The studio will be releasing something before season two.

Story consultant Gary Whitta was on IGN’s Up at Noon, and revealed this big ol’ tease.

“There may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two,” he said. “We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two. There may be something in the works, even as we speak, that will make the wait for season two slightly less agonizing.”

As for when we might hear more about this, Whitta said “solid information” is coming “in the near future.” When asked for details, Telltale Games wasn’t willing to expand on Whitta’s comments.

When I spoke with project leads Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin earlier this year, the duo had moved onto Telltale’s next big series, based on the Fables comics. It seems likely we’re looking at a 2014 debut for The Walking Dead. The first episode of Telltale’s first season came out in April 2012.

“There’s not much to say because it is really very early in the process--we’re just starting to talk about it,” said Whitta. “It’s a way off.”
