Games I Played With My Kids
I have never played Mario Tennis before. I don’t remember why I wanted to play this game, but I did DL it for some reason. Of course I have not finished this game yet because of the Blooper. That squid is a very good tennis player, and too strong.
I wish Mario could use his super tennis skills for a regular Mario game to save Princess Peach from Bowser. I think those skills could be very effective, more than just running and jumping against Bowser and his friends. Unless they also use their tennis skills.
The Legend of Zelda : Link’s Awakening
I have never played this Zelda before. I know why I wanted to play this game. I thought I might prefer this more traditional Zelda over something like Breath of the Wild. Surprisingly, I finished the game and my conclusion is… I should have just played A Link to the Past instead? And thinking about what the various monsters and bosses are doing in the dungeons while waiting for Link to show up and fight them bothers me a lot. Maybe I just got too old for having a fun with this type of game. I am an old guy who maybe has too realistic a perspective for video games.
Luigi Mansion 3
I don’t remember any details, but I think I played the first Luigi's Mansion a bit on the GameCube. Right now my kids are playing more than me. It was fun but I just got tired of sucking/beating the ghosts.
I am more curious about their lives before they died. I think what Luigi should try to do is not suck them into his ghost vacuum, but just try to ask them about their lives before they passed away. He doesn’t need a vacuum. He just needs ears to listen to their stories.
Dragon Quest XI demo
I definitely have never played Dragon Quest XI before, and I just stopped playing and deleted the demo right after someone told us the main character is luminary. I just thought that’s enough.
The Game I Played Without Kids in 2019
Return of the Obra Dinn
After I figured out the names and causes of death for the first three people, I kinda started losing interest in investigating other people's names and causes of death for some reason. But just walking around the game's cozy 1-bit graphics world was fun. And I couldn't help wondering what if Luigi Mansion 3 and Return of the Obra Dinn collaborated somehow? It might be interesting.
