That's the basic premise of this short Flash game from Shane Brouwer called Daft Punk: Electrowars. It's basically a Mario-style platformer with head jumping (which is awesome when you combo it together) and item collection. Also, it's only two levels, so you'll probably be done with it in five minutes. Still, it's clever, and it makes me long for a sequel in which MSTRKRFT shows up and claims the music duo title for Canada, sparking a three-way battle in which robots fight intoxicated French and Canadian dudes with "challenging" hairstyles in order to save the world from... I don't know... slightly disappointing E-40 cameos?
Either way, it's worth checking out. Oh, and I spotted it on Offworld.
