Big Fallout: New Vegas Patch Hits PS3, Other Platforms Next Week

I can't even think of something in New Vegas that isn't getting tweaked by this thing.

Fallout: New Vegas just got a lot better, at least on the PS3, since the comprehensive patch Bethesda announced in early November is now available on that platform. The Xbox 360 and Steam versions of the patch are due to hit at some point next week.

In November, Bethesda said that this patch would squash save file corruption bugs and address a "number of other issues being reported." In a new blog post, the publisher outlines what's been fixed and addressed. Save file corruption is indeed one of the "top" fixes alongside much-needed companion tweaks.

Here's the full list. Note that this is pretty much a head-to-toe patch, addressing nearly every important system and mechanic in the game.

  • Companions will always fast travel with you, unless told to wait or sent away

Provided these fixes work as intended out in the wild, it appears as if we'll be able to start saying that New Vegas is simply "fun" instead of "buggy, but fun." Are there any PS3 owners out there who've tested this out? Have any of you been holding out on New Vegas until a patch like this hit?
