Achievements Most Wanted 7/25 - 7-31

Well, if I learned one thing from this week's lists, it's that if you aren't super-specific in your game's achievement descriptions, people will turn to the Internet to look them up and figure out what they need to do. That's, along with the overall quality of the game, of course, is probably why 'Splosion Man has dominated this week's rankings, taking both the overall spot for game-level lists and over half of the list of individual achievements.

The weekend is here once again, which means it's time for me to ask you what the heck you're going to do for the next couple of days. Playing games? I'll probably dig into Fat Princess on the PS3, but a crazy new feature idea that Dave is working on is making me start to sweat achievements again. It's like he's trying to kill me or something. You'll have to wait and see how that goes. Let's get to the lists.

I will be playing some more Oblivion on my way to getting an S rank in that game.  I'm right about a 'B' whenever the system updates.  Other than that, I'll do some work and celebrate my having one week left of my summer job before I go back to my job at school, which is so much better.

I like GI Joe...I really like Christopher Eccleston....but I get the feeling I will feel bad about spending more than $3 to see the movie.

The Gears 2 achievement is called My Way or the Highway.

Sacred 2 on the 360 if I can spare the time.  Might also check out Splosion Man and/or Droplitz on XBLA.

I feel the opposite Jeff. The Transformers movie had minimal draw, due to the fact that Peter Cullen did the Optimus voice. However, there is no possible way you will get me to see the G.I. Joe film.

Curious how long 1943 will stay in the list. Wouldn't be surprised if it stayed at 10 for a few more months. The achievements are easy as hell to get but that's kinda balanced by the fact that there's only 12 of them (which requires 4+ times the achieving to match a retail game). Does the tracking list by percentage achieved or by actual achievement count?

I wonder if there will ever be any achievements for the PC version. I don't think it will be a GFWL or Steam release. I still expect EA to come up with their own type of achievement platform and will be able to retroactively give achievements for games that already have similar things tracked (such as the Battlefield series). It will probably the first out-of-game achievement-style system for the Wii or DS.

New DLC just came out with new achievements. That's most likely why. "

This weekend?  Watching the Matrix shut down then playing Aion.

Wow, 3 XBLA games topping the list. I only have Monkey Island but I might buy 'Splosion Man soon. MvsC2, No Thank You, (sweet, that rimes)

Tonight I will watch the end of the world, then play games.

This weekend I'm finishing up Burnout Paradise, as I made a smooth $20 purchase for it this past week at BestBuy. It truly is a fantastic game, and I can second the 5-star vote it gets from Giant Bomb.  When I say finish, I'm really not giving it justice in all its completion, bit I'm hoping to get whatever license is past the A license, and then as close to getting all 75 cars.

I grew up on GI Joe, so yeah, I'll probably go and see it.

As far as achievements go, I predict 'Splosion Man will stay at the top, and GI Joe will make the top 5.

I only got one level to beat(which i skipped) in Splosion Man to get the "Your the Best Around!" achievement.  Don't expect i'll be getting any more from that game though.

Hope that the new feature is some sort of wiki functionality on the Achievement pages.  I mean I hope the first sentence in your post is a clue. 

I am still considering buying the All Fronts Collection...I probably will after Mothership Zeta and Shadow Complex arrive.

It's possible that the person who played the game removed their account from the system after we had scanned it. "
