I had a feeling this would be reviewed very low but any of you duders picking it up?
Not surprising after that trailer from a while back. Seems the Ninja Gaiden name is only getting worse and worse.
Ha, I forget this thing even existed, let alone it was apparently so close to release.
That's essentially my response to this.
Dang man, can you even imagine where the Ninja Gaiden franchise could have been today if Tecmo hadn't been complete shitholes and Itagaki and his developers had been kept on and Hayashi had been fired? We'd have the sickest ninja gaming experience known to man running on the new consoles, but instead we got NG3 and this.
Was going to say Demoskinos is but he already commented. As for me, I'll be watching it on YouTube. Spark Unlimited yo.
@awesomeusername: Its a Ninja Gaiden game even if none of them will ever live up to the splendor of Ninja Gaiden Black I can't help but buy it.
Now I wonder how many of those reviews are just upset about the tone/humor of the game. This game never had a chance. Could be action game of the generation, but it was dead out the gate.
@demoskinos: I (& the entire internet) know you will buy anything Ninja Gaiden. Nothing wrong with that, I was just messing with you. If anything, the case looks pretty cool. Would like to hear your thoughts on the game since I bet most reviews dislike it because the tone/humor. GameInformers little blurb pretty much points it to be a decent game besides the "humor".
Seems like my decision to not get this from Gamefly and get the new Atelier game and Second Son instead was a good one.

Disliking a game's tone and/or style of humour should still serve as valid criticism, though. And besides, Gamespot and OPM at least spent most of their attention lambasting the gameplay and the supposedly atrocious camera more than anything else. Not to mention a framerate on consoles that also apparently sometimes veers into the single digits...

Does that mean anything anymore?
@awesomeusername: No offense taken sir. Im going to report back for sure. Possibly tonight if I don't get distracted by Dark Souls 2 or Metal Gear Solid V or FFX HD or...oh god so many games. I don't have enough time to play them all.

What? Of course it does. It means it gets pretty choppy at points. If you're referring to the specifics of stating 'single digits' then perhaps not; point is the framerate gets to be pretty dire, but there's also nothing wrong in pointing out to just how bad.

Well you could read some of the reviews. I have and, nope, the major criticisms aren't just on the "humor".

I wasn't saying it isn't a valid criticism, I just bet that's what everyone is most annoyed by. I read on Game Informer the cameras a bit bad at some points but isn't that to be expected from a Ninja Gaiden game? I'm not saying that shouldn't be pointed out either. Just saying from what I've played of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and NG3, a bad camera will always be a problem with Team Ninja. I don't read reviews, just skim them from Game Informer so I wouldn't really know all the problems with the game. But I don't care for the game at all. If I played it, it'd be because I got it for $15.
I thought it looked good, but not enough to buy day one. Bummer!
I don't know anything about Spark.
Spark Unlimited is a mediocre development studio with a scant but poor history. In addition to assisting on Yaiba, they were also responsible for Lost Planet 3 and the FPS games Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Legendary. In short, their track record is not that good. They're the obvious weak link in the partnership responsible for this game.
