I know Dan's been playing it, but please let Alex do a review! (If he wants. I can't see him not wanting to play this entire thing to death!) I don't have a Wii U, so I will probably never get to play it, but this game looks gorgeous.

When I look at "HUUUUNNNNNGHHHHHHHH" I think less of Yoshi and more of Alex's lament over our existence.

As someone who actively dislikes Yoshi's Island, and every subsequent Yoshi focused platformer, this actually seems pretty great. My biggest gripe about how the collectables are handled seems to be absent here, since its more or less a sequel to Epic Yarn. Also a distinct lack of crying babies, thats good too.

@reverendhunt: The most likely reason for the spread-out Japan, Europe and US releases is the plush amiibo production.

I stated this on the quick look and I'll say it again here: as a big fan of Yoshi's Island I HIGHLY recommend you change the controls to the "B" settings and the "Hasty" egg throwing. This makes it play much, much more smoothly.

GF and I just picked this up Saturday. I have to say, it's probably the best looking, cutest platformer currently available. The artists designed the SHIT out of this game.

I think I might just like this one better than New Super Mario Bros. U, as far as side-scroller-ish platformers go.
