Weird this trailer makes the game look like a successor to Bioshock. Would not have thought it'd be a survival game. Although a survival game paired with a decent plot could be a nice evolution for the genre.

I'm in the alpha. It's a tense stealth game where the threat of failure and having to start all over works better on me than most roguelikes, probably because the gameplay is solid. It could use more variety, but then it is an alpha.

I had the exact same impression. It being a survival game has seriously deflated my interest. Still, Id be interested in seeing how the mechanics work, if nothing else.

I initially had the same sentiment that it being a survival rouge-like killed any interest. However, I couldn't resist the aesthetic and backed the Kickstarter.

After playing the pre-alpha for roughly 9 hours, I fully agree with @aaronchance. Though what they have right now is a bit bare boned, it's a really great foundation. The perma-death aspect mixed in with the managing of your hunger, thirst and joy has already led to some intense moments.

Enemies, set pieces and scenarios shown in the trailer are already miles ahead of what's currently in the latest backer build. I'm really excited to see what Compulsion does with the final product.
