    Overview

Victor Sullivan, known more commonly as "Sully", is a longtime friend and mentor to Nathan Drake, the main character of the Uncharted series. Sully is something of a shady character, as it seems his less than ethical actions have gotten him in deep with the wrong kinds of people. His trademark look is always with a cigar in his mouth while also sporting a cuban or otherwise tropical shirt. His weapon of choice is typically a revolver, though during Among Thieves he is also shown to be proficient with a sniper rifle.

He is voiced and motion-captured across all of his appearances by Richard McGonagle.

During the beginning of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Sully is supposedly killed by Gabriel Roman. As Nathan is being chased by Roman's men, he doesn't see that Sully is still alive, and consequently neither does the player. Sully is kidnapped by Roman and forced to help him search for El Dorado in order to pay off his debts. Later on, Sully escapes Roman's clutches, assists Drake in taking down their foe, and uncovers the truth about El Dorado.

Sully returns as one of Drake's sidekicks in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, providing the brash, green-eyed analysis players became used to in Uncharted. His role is significantly less prominent in the sequel, however. Sully first appears to pay out Drake's bail after being caught by Turkish police and sent to prison thanks to the untimely betrayal of Harry Flynn for infiltrating and attempting to steal from a Museum.

From here, along with Chloe Frazer, Nate and Sully plan to enact revenge on Flynn and his employer, Zoran Lazarevic. They track his movements to a Borneo jungle in Indonesia. There the two manage to fight their way through a number of Zoran's situated outposts, eventually uncovering a tomb filled with a number of dead Venusian sailors. Drake finds himself the Phurba Dagger, which was described by Marco Polo as the Golden Passport into Shambhala.

After exiting the tomb, Chloe, who is acting as a double agent, is forced to temporarily betray Nate and Sully for keeping appearances and captures the two. They manage to escape, with Chloe's help, but more of Zoran's men chase them through a long dally of cliff-sides. They manage to outrun, only by leaping off the cliff into the sea below. Sully confesses, however, that's he's too old for all this and gives up, exiting out of the adventure for Nate and Chloe to continue.

Sully isn't encountered again until the very end, where he is shown carefully escorting a newly recovered Elena, after she suffered a close range grenade explosion ignited by Flynn. He expresses mild disappointment that Nate didn't actually receive any riches from this adventure, but digresses and instead goes on the look for Chloe. Nate calls him a ''dirty old man'' with Sully replying with a nonchalant ''uh huh''.

On the multiplayer front of things, multiple Sully skins are available on the heroes side. Only the default Sully is available initially, with three more being brought through DLC. There are:

    • Default Sully in his attire from when he bails Nate out of the Turkish prison.
    • Sully wearing his red Havana shirt from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. (Sidekick DLC)
    • Sully with his darker Borneo outfit. (Sidekick DLC)
    • Sully wearing his winter coat from the very end of the game. (Sidekick DLC)

For the Cooperative Adventure mode, Sully was apart of the playable cast in the Nepal mission, along with Nate and Chloe, taking the player three slot.

Sully returns to accompany Drake throughout the story of the third adventure. As revealed in backstory, Sully encountered a young Nate on the streets of Cartagena, saving him from the thugs of Sully's former associate and lover, Katherine Marlowe. This surrogate father-son relationship drives the aging Sully to follow Nate almost literally to the ends of the Earth, from burning buildings to billowing sand storms and beyond. His loyalty and guidance never waver. Nate relies on Sully, even on the spectre of the man to guide him through the treacherous desert. With a new propeller plane and more cigars to munch on, Sully is ready to adventure onward in the future, presuming Nate and Elena haven't settled down.

Sully was once again made to be available for the competitive multiplayer modes and, like all characters featured in the multiplayer, now comes with customisable attire. By completing certain Treasure Sets via the Cooperative Arena/Hunter modes, the player could unlock a fedora, an ascot, and a pair of old, thick-rimmed glasses for Sully to wear. Two other Sullivan skins are, eventually, up for purchase as well: Suited Sullivan, taken straight from the London chapters, and Young Sullivan, taken from the two chapters detailing Nathan Drake and Sully's first encounter.

He also returns as a playable character in the adventure co-op modes, starring in all five of the chapters as a playable character taking up the second player slot for three chapters, the third player slot for one, and as the lead for another.
