Another year, another TGS full of amazing new games from Japan. With Japanese gaming being revitalized in the West thanks to games like Persona 5 and Yakuza 0, there's a lot of hype and momentum. There's been no lack of video content either. Apart from various NicoNico Live streams, the likes of Famitsu have also had daily stage shows, like how Gamespot runs E3. Similarly SEGA and Sony has also had their own streams every day, while D3 Publisher live-streamed their own stage show, which includes ladies taking their clothes off again... Anyway, on to the games! These are mostly for newly announced games or games getting their first trailer. Click on any of the titles to go to the Wiki!
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III
The excellent Trails of Cold Steel games get their 3rd entry. The series also finally makes the leap to the PlayStation 4.
Zanki Zero
From the Danganronpa people comes a new suspense mystery game. It looks mysterious and apocalyptic. What it's actually is about? Your guess is as good as mine, but the trailer is intriguing.
Kamen Rider: Climax Fighters
Kamen Riders butt heads in this arena fighter
Left Alive
This new game in the Front Mission universe is being labelled as a survival shooter. If that means a PUBG-clone, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
DJMAX Respect
I gotta level with you; I don't really follow the DJ Max series, but this one has cute alpaca in the thumbnail. We miss you Drew!
Hokuto Ga Gotoku
With a new trailer and expanded website, there is tons of new info on the upcoming Fist of the Northstar game by the Yakuza people, but more importantly, SEGA also showed a snippet of what exploring the town of Eden looks like.
Earth Defense Force 5
Shoot bugs and aliens again! EDF! EDF!
Earth Defense Force 4.1: Wingdiver The Shooter
Shoot bugs and aliens again! EDF! EDF!
Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain
Shoot bugs and aliens again! EDF! EDF!
Bullet Girls Phantasia
The 3rd game in the Bullet Girls series drops its PS Vita exclusivity and will now come to PlayStation 4 as well. Rather than the modern-day high-school/military shooting, this game takes place in a phantasy world.
Dynasty Warriors 9
Omega Force has a brand new engine for the next Dynasty Warriors game, which allows for a more open world feel.
Girl Metal!
Tak Fujii is back with a brand new game for the Nintendo Switch. Now the enhanced motion control of the Joy Con will be put to the test as this is an air-drumming game about school girls fighting aliens by rocking out! Be sure to watch this bonus interview as well! Extreme!
A Certain Magical Virtual-On!
Big year for mechs! Virtual-On is coming back in style as the SEGA and Dengeki Bunko collaboration continues. Music by Yuzo Koshiro!
Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2
The sequel to the online battle game was announced during Sony's pre-TGS presser.
Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition
Bring Final Fantasy XV with you on the go in this super deformed iOS/Android version
Ryu Ga Gotoku Online
First gameplay trailer for Yakuza Online has surfaced. It's for Android, iOS and PC.
Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation
Fight, befriend and fuse demons in this mobile SMT game. Enjoy this gameplay
PlayStation VR
While VR isn't making big waves anymore, it's far from dead. As I suspected for a long time, it seems to have landed in it's own niche, existing as a peripheral, much like a fight stick, lightgun or racing wheel might do. Despite that, Sony has a strong lineup of upcoming titles to their headset.
Gungrave VR
The undead ex-mafia enforcer is back at it again with the shooting. This time in VR!
Fate/Grand Order VR
Announced a while back, Fate/Grand Order now gives us the first glimpse of the VR experience.
Dark Eclipse
Sunsoft is back! ....with a MOBA. It's in VR, so it has that going for it at least.
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner M∀RS
Konami still lives. This time, they are making a VR version of the best Zone of the Enders game. Piloting giant robots is what VR is all about!
Summer Lesson: Chisato Shinjo
The fancy Chisato Shinjo joins the girls of Summer Lesson. Experience what it's like to be a teacher to the rich elite.
Megadimension Neptunia VIIR
Neps in VR! First gameplay has surfaced out of TGS!
Extra Stuff
Here's some odd and ends for what else went on at TGS 2017.
Like last year, Voltage had a bunch of male models and hosts to promote their mobile and VR otome games.
Apart from Tak Fujii, there was also a giant cat absolutely killing it on the drums at the Girl Metal! booth

Sony had a presence with an impressive Detroit: Become Human booth. Models were lined up and did an amazing job at acting like synthetic humans

At the Gal*Gun 2 booth, stickers (I think) were getting blown off models with leaf-blowers and fans.
