A great Zelda game for the DS!

Playing through this game was great fun. The controlls are innovative, you play through the entire game with the stylus alone. I was sceptical at first to how this would work out, but it actually feels great. The way you solve puzzles, combat enemies or just simply move around makes sense and is well designed.

The areas are also well made. The Ocean, your hub for travelling to the different islands of the game, is huge. You navigate it by drawing a line you want your boat to follow on a map, and press go. To prevent travel getting tedious and boring, they have implemented a little mini-game to keep you busy while your boat is on it's way. The islands are fun to visit, some more interesting than others, but the general quality of them all is pretty high.

The temples in this game, as well as their bosses, are fun though most of them not very challenging. The overall quality of the temples are good, though some of them can feel a little bit too short.  The bosses are fun and use the stylus controls well, but can be quite easy once you crack the code on how to beat each one. The puzzles are imaginative and generally well made, and there are some clever use of the DS and its stylus. To give an example, In one puzzle you actually have to close your DS to press two pieces of a map together. Pretty rad!

So overall, great zelda game that keeps you entertained throughout.

THE GOOD: Stunning graphics, spot-on controls, best cutscenes ever, inventive boss fights. THE BAD: Terrible level design, disappointing story, hard to use online play, lack of excitement during most of the game. Nintendo wanted to create a brand new Zelda game for the DS that would be controlled entirely by using the touch screen. This is a great challenge, considering you wouldn't think of a Zelda game, which has always had very complex controls, to work on one touch screen. But somehow, the...
