    Hi duders,

    I am new to the series (and also Nintendo home consoles really). Can some explain the progression system or point me to a good summary. I see there is competitive (regular, ranked and something else) and coop (the stuff with the fishes) and singleplayer. Are those systems interlocking in any way? Whats the deal with the gear. Is this level based or random?

    What is the deal with Spaltfest and your Splatfestlevel/power?
