Thursday Night Throwdown: 01/19/12

Everything about this week's TNT was perfect.

You'd think this time of year might make things on a gaming website a little stale but that's when GB brings on the relentless comedy.

1: Apples to apples is still an amazing fucking quick look. Lol gameloft.
2: You could fool me and tell me this was specifically made as a ramp up from apples to apples for giantbomb and I'd believe you.
3: GOD I WISH BRAD MUIR WAS HERE TOO.

By far, this was one of the best TNTs. The card game was hilarious and I think Jeff was there too, I can't be sure.

This might have been one of the best TNT's i've seen so far. While it was pretty great to have some Star Trek in the background, I think Jeff should have been in on the card game. Shit that was so funny.

lol every time i see jeff block a giantbomber who tries to invite him to a group i feel a little sorry for the members of this site playing this game.

First time I'm on the completely opposite end of the majority of commenters. I didn't find this funny, probably because nothing was really offensive, so maybe that's that. I don't want to come across like 'yeah, i'm so tough nothing is offensive to me' but, yeah, nothing mindblowing there. At least they diversify their TNT's which is nice.

This is the worst card I have seen in the game (in my opinion). Who would want to read that out loud?

I think AIDS is the real instant win card in this game, sadly Vinny couldn't play it.

This was a lot of fun, it's up there with the Fortune Street TNT.

Bit of a shame they didn't pay any attention to Star Trek though, it's a pretty fun game and they could have shown some of the interesting stuff in there. Maybe for another QL though.

I'd be happy to see Cards Against Humanity return someday as a supplemental to the core TNT experience--but please, Jeff, if you're not going to play with anyone, don't play an MMO for any future TNTs. It doesn't give an accurate picture of what the game should look like, and furthermore it excludes the community from playing, and as far as I'm concerned one of the biggest draws for TNTs is the opportunity they represent for GB fans to play alongside the staff.

I think my favorite part was the furtive glances as Jeff switched to TrackMania.

They said months ago that TNT was no longer going to be exclusively about playing with GB users - hence the many weeks where they play games with local multiplayer.

I had a great time watching this. Laughed my ass off from beginning to end. I can only hope that Cards Against Humanity makes a return on here in the near future. And I'll definitely be ordering the game for myself once it becomes available.

It's a nice mix-up from the usual TNT formula but I don't think it would work in most cases: the video game would necessarily have to be something not very involving as the viewers attention must be divided between it and whatever other shenanigans are transpiring. They were also showing off the novelty of that particular card game; I don't what else would qualify for none video game content for TNT.

Still interesting to watch though.

this TNT coincided perfectly with what i was going to do after work yesterday. good times.

I'm very pleased to see more Star Trek Online. I miss setting my Phaser to fun.
