Killing this fool was one of my biggest accomplishments. I felt like a damn master, despite wanting to give up plenty!

Very excited to watch this. I'm awful at games so I kid you not when I say that this fucking boss took me anywhere from 10 to 15 hours if I had to guess. But yeah, defeating the final boss is easily one of the most satisfying moments in games for me in recent years.

Spin Rhythm XD is the game Jeff is talking about up top, it takes some work to use a dj hero controller but you can play it with a mouse, a drawing tablet, or (in my opinion the most fun way) any midi dj controller. It is rad as fucking hell. We need some spin rhythm coverage on GB!

The legal weed shops here in Canada are weird. You know how the Apple store is laid out and designed? They have that kind of atmosphere. Very clinical feel. The guy behind the counter may or may not be the kind of stoner you'd expect at an old head shop but he'll be wearing a uniform with nametag now.

I too owned that soundtrack, on tape. Genuinely excited to hear, well, anyone else at all know of it let alone maybe like it.

It took the last 10 minutes of this video 20 minutes to finish on Apple Tv because of buffering (low setting)

It's really interesting watching Ben play this the "correct" way because I played Sekiro like I played Bloodborne. Dodge-heavy and mashy.

This is one of the best final boss fights in video games. The more you interpreted what the game is trying to teach you, the easier the fight will be. It is as it easiest if you really interpret the game's whole idea of "have an awesome white knuckle swordfight". What a game!

I finally beat this boss last night! It was a great feeling when his moves started to click, and I quickly got from dying on his first stage to almost no-hitting his second and third.

I have in watched the VGA yet, however I am surprised this won over that game from Geoff's bff.

I don't get hating Rick and Morty because of a small number of dumb ass fans.

35:29 bois gb moment of the year! We need more music oriented streams like this. Also RE2 and Control got robbed at TGA but also Sekiro deserved it even though I love Souls games and From Software but wasn't a big fan of Bloodborne 2 so hell yeah!!

The last boss took me 13 hours to beat.

It was about the same for me. I started throwing myself at him around 8am on a Sunday morning, and finally beat him after 9pm the same day. And I tried every stupid gimmick you can find on YouTube. Wasted all my consumables. In the end it was simply a matter of getting good.

Really proud of the progress you've made here, Ben. You're really close, so don't despair! A couple things:

Try to jump more. A lot of those attacks you're having trouble with can safely avoided by jumping on his head (even the ones you think can't) OR jumping backwards. You've got a ton of room to work with, so use that space.

Dodging is also very effective especially for his spear form. Even parried successfully, a lot of his big attacks will put you into blockstun or knock you back, so it isn't always the best option. Keep moving forward and stay on that ass!

For some of the trickier attacks that he's having trouble with, I recommend using the mist feather or the umbrella.

Also, I love this boss fight so much. I spent like 2-3 hours on it before I finally killed him. On my next playthrough, I literally beat him my first try. Once you beat this boss, you really feel like a god at the game.

Also also, I really wish this game had a boss rush mode. I want to fight this guy again, but I don't want to spend 3-7 hours getting to him.

Fool me once "Souls" games, shame on you. Fool me like four or five times.... meh I'll probably end up playing this one and bouncing off it too someday.

Sword Saint Isshin and Owl both kind of have the 'problem' that one of the most effective ways to handle them is to not do what the game wants and Stay Aggressive but instead stay away from them at just the right distance that they use their unsafe closing attacks.

Jeff out here trolling big time! Answer the call was bad. Afterlife at least looks like it has some hope of being ok.

That "Fruity Fruity Fruity" song was used as a buzzer on an episode of QI. Dunno where it's from originally.

Too spammy when trying to hit the boss. Getting locked into another attack animation when they're already swinging is what's getting Ben most of the time. Treat it like a fighting game, your moves have startup, their moves have startup - none of your moves cause hitstun, theirs do, so learn their moveset and play around it.

Double Ichimonji does the most damage and posture damage if you know when to use it and take advantage of it. Tools help but are totally unnecessary for beating the game.

The worst part of this feature by far was that shitty music they played. Keep that crap in trackmania.

@ricepanda: I could never make the double Ichimongi work in this fight. You have to be extremely fast evading after the second hit. I always found it better to get my one hit in, then back off. Against Sword Saint I got the most damage in by evading to the left as he attacks after he sheaths his sword for the charge attack, and getting a few solid hits in. Rinse, repeat. Eventually he'll go down.

Logic is great.
