Love the art. This looks really cool and I think the overall concept and execution looks more compelling than Dan and Alex make it sound.

An actual quick look.

I don’t hold GB to particularly high standards when it comes to being a source of information and reviews, but even by those low standards, this was an atrocious quick look.

With how fast Dan was rushing through everything, I feel like I barely know a thing about this game. Hell, I’m pretty sure he didn’t even mention the Skill menu or whatever was in it. If Dan was so disinterested in doing this, maybe he shouldn’t have done it at all.

Sure, the game could be as mediocre as they say it is, but this quick look sure as hell didn’t tell me one way or the other

This is one of those games that seems like it didn't need a quick look, or any coverage at all.

That's a shame, I've been looking for a fun brawler to play. Just finished Redeemer which is a really good one.

Seems unfair to say flash games lack in depth, there's so many flash games with crazy concepts that are ahead of console and steam releases. don't forget that super meat boy started as a flash game.

I feel more and more looking at recent games like this that different generations just need different brawlers. I'm sure this would be alright for a kid with a switch who hasn't beaten Streets of Rage 20 times and sometimes has to play with their cousin or something.

If anything this quick look is decent for any of the parents among us who might want something easy and colorful to play with their kids.

I honestly think people in general should just remove "it's like a flash game" from their lexicon. It's dismissive in a way that's full of a lot of stereotypes that aren't actually at all dependent on the platform it was developed on, and often comes from being critical of a few aspects of a game that aren't even necessarily negative, such as having clean and simple art. Ironically I see it levied at games that actually have really high resolution 2D art that looks really good, as well, just because it follows a certain style.

It also just isn't relevant anymore. Flash has basically been a dead platform on its last legs for a few years now. Most games that people accuse of "looking like a Flash game" aren't even made in Flash anymore.

The art style reminds me of Shank. I do miss that art style

Looks like a game I'll buy during a Steam sale, then play while hung over.

Get Keanu Reeves on the phone, because this video felt like it needed somebody to play Devil's Advocate.

All this being said, I strongly disagree with the Beast Crew - this looks nothing "like a Flash game". Maybe I just haven't played a Flash game in over a decade.

@mysticpirate: Really? I feel the exact opposite. I know everything I need to about this game from the quick look. Mediocre brawler that has a time limit (?) but doesn't utilize speed very well at all. Mashy controls, inconsequential story. Dan did in fact talk about items + skills (which seem very generic as well - and again - don't really play into the "speed" aspect). I feel like you're completely off-base here

11 minutes of dan shitting on a game?

Wow, it's an actual quick look for a quick(?) game.

I don't care much for brawlers in general, but some of my least favourite videos are the ones of this sort of complete negativity for the duration. I would have rather that they took these 11 minutes to sit on the toilet or answer some emails or something. This is the video equivalent of unironically saying "don't @ me" after a terrible take.

I feel like that ninja carrot game captures the spirit of a speedy brawler better than this generic thing. Hard time imagining more than 100 people picking this up for 20$
