Off topic, since this is clearly captured from a real N64. But what's the state of 64 emulation these days? Any suggestions for a good emulator? Research purposes only of course...

Every time Oak says something is so-so and Jan is dismayed - it cuts deep to my soul.

I really was looking forward to this but I had to go to bed, I watching while making and eating breakfast though and it's so good!

generally avoid solo streams cuz i'm an asshole. Big mistake. As the purple yoda would say, U got the Look, Jan. Funny good vibes. I'll have to catch up on solo jan streams now.

You can’t spell Pokemon Snap without Snom.

I played this game so much as a kid because I was convinced that there will be always one more secret to discover.

@bigevil1987: Game Cube and Wii happen without issues, so I can't imagine N64 is an issue. No specific recommendations though.

I have no idea why but I find this fascinating to watch.

This is on Wii U virtual console in case you want to check it out yourself and don't have an N64 like Jan clearly has.

Man this soundtrack takes me all the way back. I still have my cartridge of this game from childhood.

@bigevil1987: It mostly works fine, it has for a long time though really. Some games have more trouble than others, it's definitely not perfect. Its been a few years now but I definitely hit a point in Paper Mario where it just would not work and had to abandon that save. I use PJ64 usually, I'm not sure if there's a better alternative out there.

@bigevil1987: For PC I used to use Project64 and it worked well then (this was years ago), dunno if it's still considered good. I usually emulate N64 games on a WiiU these days but a Wii can manage it fine too. N64 emulation has been pretty good for a long time tbh.

Retroarch with the Mupen64Plus core is the best I've found. BizHawk is not bad either, but I like having everything in one neat package.

I always thought it was weird that if you leave and reenter a store in a game the shopkeeper always acts like they've never seen you before.
