*sigh* ... everytime I see anything from Gargoyles I check if there is a legal way to stream that show and end up disappointed. That show is so rad.

Yeah, I dunno about automated highlights feature for Battlegrounds.

I'm more comfortable with just gotting ALT-F10 to grab the last 5 mins, and then cropping later, because sometimes there is a two minute gunfight that's more fun than the actual kill moment.

Man, based on the demo Monster Hunter looks good on the Switch but I don't think I can deal with the language barrier (and though I really like the games I don't think I'm familiar enough to mostly go by feel). It's basically Monster Hunter X so I don't see how it could have been that much harder to localize, but I suppose it was. Sigh, it'll probably come out here eventually considering how well the Switch is doing but later rather than sooner.

If you hit a dud, stop digging and just get back to the games! It's been driving me crazy the passed couple episodes, it's like watching a movie with all the outtakes left in.

I honestly don't understand the constant whining of the Uncharted games. "Oh we don't need more Uncharted, oh I can only play maybe one more Uncharted..." Meanwhile there are like 10 other franchises out there on their fifth ot sixth games in the series if not more, and they don't get that complaint anywhere near as prominently as Uncharted. It's not like the games are dipping in quality, so why is it that Uncharted is constantly put on blast as opposed to say Gears, which is also on its fourth game?

But anyway, I think their point is that the studio behind Uncharted is clearly very competent and can even do shooters that have a different feel and tone (Last of Us), but they're just tasked with cranking out faux Indiana Jones after faux Indiana Jones, a series that is so modern-day boring that it can't really introduce new mechanics or ideas to the player game to game, and most of the innovation is just cool stuff that programmers and artists accomplish. It's the same reason that I think Zelda got pretty fairly blasted for a while because they basically just kept remaking Ocarina of Time for like 15 years, until Breath of the Wild was finally the significant departure that we all know they were capable of making.

I understand why Brad would want Naughty Dog to do something new and why Jeff hasn't loved the gameplay in Uncharted. For me, personally, I could continue playing a new Uncharted game every 2 to 4 years indefinitely. It's one of a handful of series that I just fundamentally enjoy so much that as long as it continues to remain high quality I would keep buying them.

Yo yo Gargoyles is legit.

As a Monster Hunter player myself I, along with my friends, am totally fine with quality of life improvements. It's the actual hunts themselves that we want to still be difficult and skill oriented. As much as I loved Generations the lack of a G rank combined with the over the top Hunter Arts was really disappointing as the game was just too easy. I have heard that XX's G rank is properly difficult but we have no idea if we're gonna get it in the West. The only new thing I don't really care for in World is the scout flies but it still seems like once you know that monster and where it likes to hang out you can just ignore them and go straight for the monster. I am super excited for World but I'm real worried my PC won't be able to handle it.

EDIT: I'm only a year older than Ben and I grew up with point only games and classic gaming consoles, I don't understand how he did not.

@i_smell: the best part of the podcast now a days is watching jeff and ben just riff off eachother and the duds are great because then you get to watch them spin their wheels trying to turn it funny or watch ben dig a deeper hole its great

The back-handed PS4 bashing while still struggling to make a case for the XB1X got old pretty quickly. I would rather not have Jeff wade into this kind of stuff when his stance has been pretty well known for awhile.

Normally I don't even care, but when the Pro launched it was just like a constant stream of "What is this thing, Sony f'd up, stupid Sony!" up to and including this podcast, and with MS, it's "I feel really bad for Microsoft, they can't catch a break." Come on, man.

I mean all gaming sites crapped on the X1 because it was marginally less powerful than the PS4 now its apparently a terrible thing that there is a more capable xbox.

When Jeff plays the PC card constantly he seems to forget that the vast majority of PC gamers have rigs that will come no where close to the performance of the X1X even a PC with slightly better specs will be out performed by the X1X as the games will be better optimized.

I am also sure there are many current xbox owners who want to upgrade, and they will not throw their old consoles in the trash they will sell them or give them away which will increase the number xbox out there.

Also not everyone has a PC, what if mac owners want to play games with high end graphics.

Also not sure what his stance on Re-core is, Should MS have waited to release Re-core yes of course they should have it was kinda dumb to release it with issues when with a little more time they could have had a hit on their hands and a much needed new franchise with a lot potential for great sequels. Releasing it early damaged the games reputation, Microsoft's rep and the game dev's rep. However the game was released at a budget price and it looks like if you did buy the game at that price you are now getting what sounds like the fully finished game for that budget price, MS should have sold it as a game preview game and there would have been no backlash and in fact people would have been surprised at how good it actually was and it would have built hype for the final finished release. MS could have simply said well based on the horrible low review scores this game is toxic why waste anymore resources on it but they did not.

It's hard to tell with whom the X-Box new is in competition with, Pc or PS4-pro .

Ultimately they do want to sell many X-boxes, and hopefully to exceed all competition.

Everything they said about Recore could just as easily be said of No Man's Sky.
