I've only done the Kickstarter thing once before for Double Fine's Broken Age, which was worth it for the documentary series alone. If you haven't checked it out (and anyone is a crazy person going back to old gaming minutes and reads this) go find it on YouTube. It is free to watch for all now and is a really insightful look at the game development process.
