Yeah so, sounds like I'm not hooking up my external drive any time soon. Soo many reports of that.

Yeah, been playing it the last week or so, I was very impressed with the quality of the game. And Vinny is not wrong, it is surprisingly difficult; I was kinda thrown off by it, even as someone who is a long-time fan of those games.

I really like all the new mask mechanics and extra playable characters they have in this one. If Activision wants to have Toys for Bob make a new Spyro as well, I would be all for it, clearly they know what they're doing.

Jeff should go back to the dynamic mic he had before the tried the Shure SM7b, it sounded so much better than the Blue Yeti. The Yeti has too much reverb and sounds very harsh and tinny.

Jan is never coming back. They will send an expedition to the old office and they'll find Jan glued to the wall like Last of Us 2 with a tricaster and mic arms growing out of him.

It's times like this I wish the GB podcasts had timestamps so I could skip all the console talk.

I exaggerate a little. My little 50mbit internet can probably download a 60gb game in 3-4 hours.

I had a Twitch highlight, of me playing a Ben Pack made level in Super Mario Maker 2, partly muted. They claimed I played a Super Mario World related remix, which is fucking absurd since the artist used music and sounds from SMW. And also, I didn't play that remix. It was just music and sounds from the castle theme in SMW. I obviously appealed, but it just ended up as pending matter for all eternity. That's how fucking broken their system is.

Where the heck are these tracksuits? I will get one immediately.

My guess is that the reason Giantbomb twitch channel is not being flagged for DMCA because they do not take donations or subscriptions.

@crimsonjester: Also the Twitch DMCA thing is weird. The stream archive/VOD does try to automute any part it detects with record label copyrighted music. But that same automute system doesn’t apply to other stuff like “clips”, so a lot of people had clips with unmuted copyrighted music, and eventually the record label bots caught up to noticing those.

As Alex points out, his Rock Band Twitch VODs are mostly muted, and I assume people aren’t making many clips of GB Twitch content because there isn’t really a GB Twitch community.

Still, the whole situation is fucked because technically Twitch streamers exist in a weird grey legal area where they don’t really have the legal right to publicly exhibit the video games, but the publishers let it slide because it’s free advertising. But all the other legal business gets complicated because the licensed music rights holders in games *do* care a lot more than the game publishers turning a blind eye. And then Twitch leadership has largely failed to implement any system to mitigate these legal problems, and spent years not discouraging broadcasters from just playing big record label music on their streams.

And as people have brought up, the bots that DMCA flag stuff are often overly broad, and there are tons of cases where they flag stuff they have no business flagging.

Do you guys not have data caps out East? You always talk about internet speeds as a limiting factor but never data caps. Those are just as much if not more of a problem than speeds

I guess I don’t get the argument about the music on twitch? Like isn’t the answer for streamers not to use music that isn’t theirs?? Idk seems pretty simple to me, just use music you legally can.

I feel all the reviewer issues on both system's hardrive sizes are overblown. They seem to be in a unique situation where they get alllllll the games, most consumers might get two at launch? Look I have a 1tb hard for my comp and when it gets full I just delete a game I don't play anymore and install the new one. Not a big deal.

@stradalemc: The problem is that sounds ingame, even soundeffects that have been included in the game, might be part of some soundlibrary. Even here in the comments we have a guy playing Mario, and getting flagged because there's some Mario remix out there. Games like Rockband and Fuser fully revolve around music. IRL streams where you end up in a mall that plays music in the background or a car drives by playing a certain song might get you flagged.
