Since they mentioned it: yes, River City Girls 2 was updated. On Steam at least, dunno about other versions.

QLs are back on the menu boys!

I wasn't expecting this to be run-based, but the format really does compliment the genre well. Heck, I'm surprised more beat-'em-ups haven't done this given that Dungeon Fighter Online first released 13 years ago.

Not only is Kunio-kun still going (in fact, River City Girls is part of the lineage), but Double Dragon is not part of the series. It was going to be but it wound up being more of a spiritual successor.
