I started playing for the first time yesterday on xbox one x, from lvl 1 to lvl 11, nobody has left after getting killed. Every player I played with was the nicest person I could have ask for on xbox live. I use a mic, about 50/50 with/without . My first and only win came after being killed with my teammate and the other revived us and we ended up winning the match. So satisfying

The Activision stuff is ROTTEN.

Not even one minute in and they already got a bunch of things wrong, this time about Home Alone (and mostly Ben). If this podcast was set on the East Coast they would probably receive an email with corrections.

@lawrence53787: I won within the first 2 days of release...dont know if its just getting easier after playing tons of royals. Almost won my first time playing PUBG too with hiding till last minute. IDK if these games are less about skill then a regular death match type games. Interesting genre. Ive seen non gamers jump in fool around and get 4th or so first time. Something about royal games really changed gaming to be more approachable again.

@brad The Final Fantasy character Rikku does appear in Kingdom Hearts 2. For some reason, she, Yuna, and Paine are flying pixies. A reason for this is not given.

On the Riku/Rikku thing: double consonants are slight pauses! So it's Ri-ku and Ri--ku. In English it sorta doesn't matter

I'll describe what happened at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3 in DBZ terms:

In Japanese their names are Riku vs. Ryukku

I won on within the first 10 games with randoms although we had a real great player on our team. Both myself and the second squad member died and this dude took out the entire opposing team and ran halfway across the map to revive us. I’ve consistently met some pretty decent people and I’ve in turn tried to return the favor - in fact just recently I did the same thing for my team, reviving both my dudes after frantically avoiding other squads on the way to a respawn beacon.

That said I’ve only ever gotten to top 3 ever since, which makes me think that win was more luck than anything considering how green I was. I’m still not great at aiming but I’m learning the tips and tricks to survival, and tactical retreats are a big part of that.

Apex is literally unplayable for some people because of the headbob and all the camera shaking on jump windups and fucking grenade switching. Why is bullshit garbage like that still in games?

I can't help but be jealous hearing you guys talking about your Apex Legends experiences when mine have been sooooo shitty. None of my friends play multiplayer stuff so I have to tough it out with randos and, so far, they've all been toxic shitheads. :/

I've played Apex on PC for tens of hours by now with maybe 10 wins, and can count on one hand the number of times that squadmates have fucked off on their own and died, or someone in voice chat has been less than cool. Even the number of randos being cool and jokey about things going very wrong has been high, where we get stomped, laugh it out, and take our leave. Anecdotal of course, and I don't doubt that there are some turds on there, but I'm having a great experience so far.

I wish I knew what the issue was with some people's Xbox One. people always talk about how slow the dashboard is but I don't have that issue whatsoever. It's not lightning fast, but hearing people say stuff like "I waited 10 seconds for it to move" is ridiculous. I just make sure to do a full reboot of my console every two to three days and I've never had any issues. Also, the 360 dashboard does not seem any faster to me than the X1's.

This has to just be some sort of grass is greener revisionist mental history thing when people say the X1 dashboard used to be faster. It was not. If anything, it's actually been improved over the last couple of years.

Yeah I don't know, my One X zips along just fine and I generally restart it once a week at the most. It is too heavily dependent on internet connection though, and if the internet is laggy then it really effects it. Normally though it's perfectly fine and I love how it's laid out.

Astroneer seems like the kind of game that I would really like, considering how much I adore Subnautica.

For years it's been explicitly stated that KH3 is neither of those things. It's only the end of Xehanort Saga of Kingdom Hearts which was 10 games long.

To add, I too dont have any issues with the One UI, beyond some occasional but short delay for an action completing - and I think the ability to totally customize the home-section is great.

If people find it so bad, than I have to wonder how much of that is really the UI itself and not other things.

It's like - "I spend all my time on PS4 and only use my One when I have to, and I have not customized it, and I have kept it in standby this whole time, which actually isn't wise of ANY of the consoles. Then when I am done 'suffering' through it all, I quickly run to my also-not-perfect PS4 UI that I am very used to and whose issues I just gloss right over like an Apple user. Now time to push a false narrative to my audience about this!"

EDIT - to be clear, I keep my consoles in standby when such is available on the platform, but I generally restart them when I go to use them (I spend most of my time on PC, so when going back...).

A system update hit today that supposedly speed things up a bit. I've been on it for two weeks with the insider program and things have been great. It also fixes some weird lag/framerate issues in 4k games too.

What was the moment in Neir that they are referencing? I've played Neir and I'm like Brad on this one. Can someone tell me?

As Jeff basically figured out, any specifics about which Nier moment Jan is referring to would be HUGE KINGDOM HEARTS 3 SPOILERS for one of the coolest surprises in the game so I'm going to spoiler block this entire section. Honestly, I think that knowing that KH3 tries some very wild shit, even specifically Nier-like, isn't that much of a spoiler (especially given the plot of Dream Drop Distance) but knowing exactly which ideas they try is a huge spoiler.

This is by no means the most out-there thing that happens in Kingdom Hearts 3 (and the story doesn't end there) but it is an extremely surprising moment that I'm still shocked how well it worked.

Don't worry, the DLC went out of its way to tie off the BioShock timeline and erase BioShock 2, because Ken Levine is a crybaby who doesn't want anyone touching his playthings.

I was really surprised by the Bombcast's negative response to TATE mode... I'd have thought Jeff's affinity for older arcade titles would have him really pumped at the prospect of playing a game like the SNK arcade collection's Akari Warriors the way it was originally displayed in arcades on the Switch.
