It occurs to me I pre-ordered this game in 2015. I wonder when it will come? I see from KS that I ordered the "digital PS4 or PC" reward...so I should have gotten a code I guess.

Found It! Well, that was a bit more hoops to jump through than expected, but I got the code now.

The production on this one is absolutely phenomenal. The cut from Alex losing his religion because he missed Werner Herzog reciting a Simpsons script just to play Shenmue 3 to his agonized screams as he witnesses the extremely naturalistic dialogue of that game... Abby casually pondering whether Nelly was ever cancelled transitioning into GB West confirming that Nelly is, indeed, cancelled... the musical stylings of "Temporary Secretary" x "Wii Shop Channel" or Mahardy's rendition of the Funky Shop ditty ... the fact that it took this long to get a Best Of named "Thrust Attack"...

Truly sublime.

Abby looks like a robot that was unplugged during this intro.

@mouryous: Thanks! I cut the intro back during E3's Best Of and cut it out because Alex's rant kinda disrupted the flow of it and tucked it away for until S3 came out. There's stuff like the Nelly transition that happens all the time where it's just pure coincidence that discussions overlap between the two coasts. There's also stuff like "I have to set up the idea of Jeff playing music for Ben to 'vibe' to" and get lucky that they kinda explained that concept at the end of the video before they played the Temporary Secretary song so the payoff to the Nelly transition worked better.

Basically I have a bunch of random clips and get lucky everything falls together in a way that can have some logical progression.

Totally didn't hear Abby's quip about the Kung-fu dude during the quicklook. It is such a stereotypical male thing to do here in China that seeing it now hardly raises the alarm bells. Foreigners (and some locals now) have named it the Beijing Bikini. Apparently in Traditional Chinese Medicine, heat is expounded from the body through the middle-torso area of the body, so during the summer males will lift up their shirt and expose their bellies anytime they feel hot. If you don't believe me just google image search Beijing Bikini.

@sparklehorse: I lived in Northern Thailand for a while and noticed it a lot there too. Especially men who were working outside in the heat. I tried it one day when at the pool, it definitely cools you down! But I didn't have the same level of courage as the Thai dudes who just almost proudly stick their bellies out. I just couldn't pull it off.

So I've never played a Shenmue game - is the horrible dialog supposed to actually be the result of the main character being Japanese and all the NPCs being Chinese, thus a language barrier? The English dub voice acting performances make matters way worse by seemingly leaning into the awkwardness, but surely there has to be an official reason for why the conversations flow like they do.

I died after the Nelly transition. Holy shit.

I am so glad that somebody trolled Ben with the thrust attack suggestion in the Owl fight. Made me real happy to see that.
