I took your survey as a player/non backer of Shadowrun Returns. I'm curious what the motivation behind it is.

I'm almost tempted to flag this as spam... with the 1 post count, lack of avatar, and the 'hey, come take a survey about my game and have a chance to win!' aspect.

Seems like someone's trying to gather information for a study on crowdfunding, and the survey looks as though it means well, though. Huh.

@veektarius: Maybe I'm paranoid, but maybe this is some kind of email harvesting scheme. Gather a bunch of emails, then send them a bunch of signup/purchase spam or just sell the list to someone else. I'm definitely paranoid.

@mrfalcon: I didn't submit my email; I was happy to give my opinions about that game anonymously, though. I would think if they wanted to harvest emails they'd pick a more popular game. It didn't ask very incisive questions, though. The only one that stood out to me was one about whether kickstarter backers should have more influence, which could be an agenda someone has.

Sometimes we will allow non-commercial surveys if they are from established users. However, in this case, I don't like this. No details about what the "research" actually is, followed by asking for an email address for a prize at the end. Seems a little shady. Too shady to allow in any case, so the link has been edited out and the topic is being closed.
