Red Faction: Guerilla 2.50€ on steam
Played it on PS3, game got horribly long in the tooth. So even tho this is super cheap, i really don't want to buy it again. But for people didn't get to play it, its a super nice deal, and for that price its worth it.
Worth it, the game is suprisingly better than I thought. Make sure you have a quad core or higher, or it will stutter like no tommorrow on dual core.

Goddamn, this game uses GFWL. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew that.
you shouldn't have - indeed. They got me the same way last time around. It's also (almost) unplayable on PC. Controls suck.
If you use a gamepad it's fine.

Doesn't it just have gamepad support? I haven't installed it yet and I don't mind GFWL but if it has gamepad support, I'm all good.
bumping 'cause it's only 5 bucks on Steam right now. I know "is it worth it?" is a dumb question because it's a full game for $5, but... uh... would I like it? I like open-world sandbox action games and I'm playing Just Cause 2 right now and loving it. Are they similar games at all?

The main difference is that the traversal mechanics in Guerilla aren't as robust as in JC2 but the destruction physics are ten times better.
The main turn off for some is that it's GFWL, so know that up-front.
@Ravenlight: ugh GFWL... thanks for the heads-up. Think I'm gonna go ahead and pull the trigger, thanks.

They're both open-world sandbox action games with a focus on destruction, but they're a whole lot different in tone. Just Cause 2 is a stupid action movie from the '80's, and Red Faction Guerilla is an overdramatic future-opera from the early 2000's.
Yes, RFG can be fun, but its overbearing and downbeat tone kind of sucks that out because you never feel like doing crazy wacky shit outside of missions and stuff. It's also very red. As in, perpetually red environments and gunmetal gray buildings all over the place; just because this is perfectly logical and makes plenty of sense doesn't make it any less of a boring environment.
Worth a fiver, though? Yep, if you've got one handy then pick this up, the destruction engine is well worth seeing and playing with. I, for one, did not get bored of it until six or seven hours in, so it falls squarely into the "I've paid far more for far less before" argument for it being worth it.
