story spoilers ahead  
 
i just liberated the last sector (somewhat) and i got to the point where the Red Faction commander was killed. it's just me and Sam and she says we need to get enough salvage to get to the EDF main control base or something.  
 
alright, cool. a new mission appears on my map? i better go check it out.  
 
i'm following the waypoint and when i almost reach the mission, a biohazard icon appears at the top of my screen and i start losing health. i assume it's some sort of scripted event so i kept driving and well, i died. what else could i expect?  
 
i tried to find a different route but i ended up dieing again so i'm kind of stuck.  
 
at this point, what am i supposed to do to progress? i can't reach the mission so i suppose i have to blow up buildings and stuff to get salvage? i'm confused right now
