So graphical engineer Sergey Rahmanov recently posted some art from the cancelled Kameo sequel, which the website simply calls "Kameo II". This would be a rather uninteresting little tid-bit if not for the fact that the art released is a radical departure from not only the original Kameo game, but from essentially everything that Rare has made since Donkey Kong country. Namely, it looks far more in the realm of modern, "realistic" games rather than a Saturday morning cartoon.
The art dates from 2008 according to the site, suggesting this was the next major release from Rare following Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts which came out in November of that year. Possibly between the lukewarm reception of that game and the budding casual focus for Rare, the game was canceled the following year. So all we'll ever get is this admittedly fascinating artistic departure for Rare.
