Ranked, Pre-2021 Games Played in 2021

This is my ranking of the games I played for the first time in 2021 that came out before 2021.

List items

  • This is the greatest game that I will never play again. Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was able to play through this game. I spent well over 100 hours on it, possibly over 200. I will never be able to do that again. This is the first Persona game I ever played and it was well worth it. Ren and Makoto ended up together in my story.

  • Wow. Fantastic. I can't believe it took me this long to play it. This game came out in 2017, but looking back, 2017 was a heck of a year for video games.

  • This was a lot of fun. I can't imagine the emotions of playing with permadeath. That would be brutal.

  • The one GBA Castlevania game I had not played. This has been super fun and the monster power twist on the formula has been cool.

  • This was a great way to wrap up Kiryu's Story. After being disappointed in 2 of the characters in each Yakuza 4 & Yakuza 5 (so half of each game), this was a great return to form.

  • This was cute and fun.

  • I quite enjoyed this one. I think Heavy Rain is still the best, but this was a nice bounce back after Beyond: Two Souls.

  • This one took a little while to get going, but I ended up quite liking it.

  • This was cute and fun. I enjoyed playing it.

  • This was an interesting little platformer. Stylisticly cutesy creepy. Spoopy.

  • Well, Kiryu and & Akiyama were great again, and I got surprisingly sucked into Haruka's story line of trying to become an idol. I think I spent like 50% of my play time with her chapter.
