I end up not really playing a lot of games anymore, or at least completely new experiences. I've been using an online rental program for my games, instead of buying them as well. I still play a lot, but Street Fighter, NBA and WWE take up 65% of my gaming time the last couple of years.
Still, here are my favourite ones over the last three years.
2013 GOTY
I...I don't even know how they can top this scale-wise.
Hype ended up kind of ruining it for me, but still amazing.
Gameplay was a bit disappointing and very same-y to the previous games, but the art style and ending helped.
The first sports game I've played in a decade where I now know I can't go back to previous gens.
2014 GOTY.
Played well through 2015. Highly addictive. And my love of the south of France IRL helps.
Made us buy a Wii U.
As crazy as ever. Doesn't have the same punch as the first game, but didn't expect it to.
The perfect fighting game for everyone.
2015 GOTY. Like 10 year old me living the dream!
The most addicting multiplayer game. Well done.
Played through TWD (finally!) in the beginning of the year, it got me hooked on these kinds of games. This one is a refreshing non-Telltale take.
I didn't actually mind Unity as much (I also played it after the patches sorted things) but this was a solid, if unspectacular, return to form. They're on the right track.
Stylish, engrossing and good fun.
Secret best AC? The Darth Vader-ish story held my attention.
