2013 ANTICIPATION LIST

If you're one of those pathetic pessimists who think nothing good is coming out 2013, you're wrong and you're also an idiot. Ranging from BIG money, BIG Publisher/Developer games to the usual indie stuff that appears later on, not to mention those Kickstarters and Greenlight games.

List items

  • A new setting with pseudo alt-history, steampunk, ideological extremism, classism, racism, sexism and art nouveau. It has everything I think I want and more. They even have a Robotic George Washington! What are you dead inside?

With the return of Scott [SINC] Sinclair as art director, I'm kinda psyched more than I was before.

Too bad Take Two is charging an arm and a leg for it. I still haven't forgotten MAX PAYNE 3, what a gip. That songbird better not be garbage like that Max figurine.

[UPDATE] Did not disappoint! GAME OF THE YEAR!

  • Parker: "Rest assured, the South Park game will be a brilliant cross between Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and FIFA."

    Stone: "Finally"

Parker: "You gotta go kill a bunch of monsters and shit, but you can only use your feet."

This has been the South Park game I've been waiting for since I was 13 in 1997.

I just hope Oblivion make this one PC friendly.

  • George and Nico, together, forever, best friends.

Double Fine has their version of an Adventure Game and so does Revolution Software. About time a non polygonal Broken Sword. A much better Kickstarter investment than Untitled Double Fine Adventure.

  • Relic make PC games. This is a PC game.

  • I was never a fan of Devil May Cry, cos of anime and nothing about the story/characters/voice work, none of it was engaging to me. But this new DmC is up my alley of batshit crazy with nods and winks. Internet's postmodern way of living has ruined everything so here's a game that mirrors its uglyness and lack of phenomenology. 5 Stars

  • I can finally use my PS3 to play something instead of sitting there, judging me, it's not my fault I'm a PC Gamer [For Life].

  • Another Kickstarter funded project, so far they've been more promising than any studio major publisher release. XCOM, meets high fantasy meets film noire. - Fingers crossed

  • Can't wait. I really want to see what stupid piece of shit collectors edition they're gonna release. The game without a doubt will be batshit crazy.

  • I guess I have to get it. [UPDATE] Much more diverse and fun campaign than the first one.

  • I don't think this will suck. NeverRealm have proven now they know how to make 3D polygonal fighting games. Yay another game for the PS3. - Fire it up!

  • That trailer better be released as a DVD/Blu Ray with collectors editions. And they better make more and 90 mins longer.

  • Holy shit, what a great looking game! What a way to start 2013.

One down, four more chapters to go.

  • "Why are you showing me a photo" That is the reaction to ARMA 3.

Bohemia Interactive Studios must be the most humble engine developer around.

  • Just show me more pre-rendered trailers then say coming soon and I'll be fine. It may not be coming out in 2013, but just development details are enough to excite me.

  • I dished out $100 (+$10 international postage) which after seeing Revolution Software's new Broken Sword kickstarter kinda bummed me out. But I still payed for it, so I must have been interested - right? God damn media zeitgeist.

  • Not big on platformers, but this has enough style and a unique gameplay mechanic to standout. - Contrast? - Jazz hands?

  • Riot Grrls - anything about Riot Grrls. How many games get made with a Bratmobile and Heavens to Betsy as soundtrack. Corin Tucker forever!

  • Have adventure game comeback? They never went away

  • I want to play as the guy voiced by John DiMaggio

  • I went out of my way to buy MOHW recently so I can play the beta when comes out. I still care I guess. Let's hope EA don't fuck it up. Who am I kidding they're fuck up anything.

  • Don't know its going to be co-op or a really smart AI but its made by Starbreeze and its not a shooter.

  • Can't get enough of them ARPGs. The true successor to Titan Quest

  • ARPG from Newl Zeelund bru. The made it past the kickstarter can't wait for this and Grim Dawn.

[Update] It's decent for a free to play micro transaction ARPG.

  • [Update - It was alright]

Ron Gilbert and the production team at double fine seems like a pretty good recipe for a light enjoyable fun.

  • [UPDATE Its official PC is going to be port. Interest is mostly dead now]

    Ignorance is sometimes bliss.

When Dead Space 2 came out, I didn't expect a lot, cause I fuckin hated the first one. But when I played the 2nd, I couldn't belief how great it was. It no longer felt like some Japanese survival horror, but its own beast. The story was engaging, Issac had a voice and so many memorable moments - needle in the eye? And what a great looking game as well.

EA will fuck this up, no doubt about it, but how bad will it be? I guess I'll have to play it to know. God damn you Origin!

  • [UPDATE - BUSTED! connection issues, cloud BS, the future of DRM PC gaming is back, its Diablo 3 all over again]

About time. Can't wait to play that pollution crime sim multiplayer. I'll send radioactive brownout to your town then the criminals will deal with the rest.

Wait, I'm not supposed to do that? Well how am I gonna have fun? Peace and order? Not bloody likely.

  • I couldn't give a fuck about Call Of Duty or Activision at this point. But I would like to see if they're stubborn enough to put out another one this year. Unbelievable. This is like an unfunny joke that gets funnier overtime. [UPDATE] It's called "GHOST", interest lost.
