Games I have finished in 2015.

Lots of older games will probably end up here

List items

  • First game of 2015 I finished and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Initially, during the first few temples I kinda felt like it lacked an identity of its own. That did change towards the back half of the game where the temples really shine and the whimsical, strange world really comes into its own. Remarkable end with some of the most fun bosses in a Zelda game for me.

  • Finished the HD remaster. One I always wanted to play but never got around to. Thought it held up remarkably well when you basically approach it as an adventure game. The combat is so deliberate that it doesn't feel sluggish as older action games can do. In that sense it feels surprisingly modern, though it certainly can be rough but that is completely inline with what the genre used to be. Had a lot of fun and intense moments, Crimson Heads are evil incarnate. Gonna go back as Chris.

  • Finally got around to do this one. Enjoyed it immensely, its very quirky and crazy. Lots of twists and turns and keeps you enticed all the way through. Eternal despair.

  • DMC 4 Special Edition on the horizon made me finally crack into the HD collection. I have played it before, but the first Devil May Cry is still a good action game. Yes its very simple compared to the endless depth of later entries but it still has fun bosses, quick action and weapons that offer enough variety to never bore you. Had a good time.

  • Fantastic game, really takes the first game and makes most of it better. The later levels are some of the best 3D platforming ever. Just pure joy to play.

  • Finished in terms of singleplayer, multiplayer will keep me hooked for a long time. Already spent most time with it online. Absolutely adore the game. Endlessly polished in the gameplay and just so much fun.

  • To me, Hotline Miami is about one thing. Combining the music, visuals and gameplay to go into an almost trancelike state and go on a murdering spree. All of that is intact in Hotline Miami 2. The soundtrack is just as good, the visuals are still as visceral and striking, and the gameplay is built upon just enough to make it all work one more time. Even if some levels will infuriate you to all hell, I still had a blast.

  • Ori is a quite standard "metroidvania" with a fantastic look and a really cool bash mechanic that makes it stand out. The look cannot be stressed enough as its one of the prettiest games I have ever seen, just jaw dropping at times.

  • As well in the Master Chief Collection, the Anniversary is a really good version of Halo 2. While it has some spots where it drags a bit, its still a solid Halo experience that is a lot of fun.

  • Still awesome.

  • Third game and still the best Halo game to me, pacing is a bit off but only at a few parts, its still fantastic and really nails the Halo formula.

  • Not only one of the best horror games ever made, but one of the most interesting stories in the medium as well. Its very clever and is sure to make you think just as much as it probably will scare you.

  • Finished up the last game in the Master Chief saga. And while it probably is the weakest out of the 4, I still think it was fun. Its really great looking, the story is a bit weird to me and some of the environments feel really bland. Shooting is solid.

  • This might have become my favorite Halo game. Its just so cool and unique. From the awesome atmosphere of the night sections, to the very varied high intense action set pieces. The story stumbles a bit here and there, but overall its a superbly paced shooter that was a blast all the way through.

  • Not exactly finished in this either, logged 30 hours and will keep playing for a while. Enjoy it a whole lot for a few reasons. Its very similar to Left 4 Dead, and I loved Left 4 Dead. I absolutely love Warhammer Fantasy so any game set in that is almost always interesting to me. And it has loot to add to the replayability of Left 4 Dead style gameplay. I like it a lot.

  • Phew, what a trip.

I need to gather my thoughts before I say anything else.
