History
The Portland Trail Blazers have played out of Portland, Oregon their entire existence. The franchise was created in 1970 as an expansion team. The team did not make the post season in the first six years. During that time they drafted Bill Walton and he would go on to lead them to a championship in 1977 which remains the teams only championship. In the Blazers' 40 plus years of existence, they have qualified for the NBA post season 28 times. This includes a streak of 21 straight playoff appearances from 1983 through 2003. This streak remains a record, leading in all of major league sports.
