Got it early from a friend at Gamestop. I didnt beat Diamond but got pretty far. Platinum seems to be more of the same. Well, the same with minor tweaks. But i cant really say yet. Have only been playing for an hour or so. Up until now there has been som changes to the way you get your first pokemon. Havnt seen any other changes than that. But its nice that it isnt completly the same as Diamond/Pearl.
Anyone else getting this game or playing it already?
Pokémon Platinum
Game » consists of 5 releases. Released Sep 13, 2008
The third game in the 4th generation of Pokémon games, Platinum expands on the gameplay of Diamond and Pearl, adding new features, and improving old ones.
Anyone else playing this?
I got the urge to play Pokemon sometime a week or two ago, I even pre-ordered platinum but ended up canceling and just booting up Pokemon Blue on an old GBA. My biggest problem came from the fact that the entire Pokedex is different, I felt like I didn't know any of the new monsters. In Platinum is it possible to get more classic Pokemon? Or am I stuck with all the new and strange ones?
"LiquidPrince said:If you always wanted to try a new Pokemon game on the DS, doesnt that mean that you HAVE some inerest in it though?! ;) Common, theres no shame in admiting you still like Pokemon, at least not in here. :D"I stopped playing Pokemon after they changed it from the original 151 Pokemon."Yep, 151 was enough for me. But I always wanted to try a new Pokemon game on the DS even though I have no interest in it whatsoever."
"Meh. i have somewhat enjoyed Diamond, but I don't need another Pokemon game right now. I am sure the fans will enjoy it, but I will skip it. GTA: CW instead."Yes.
Is this just a remake of Diamond and Pearl?

"I played plenty of Diamond, and was one of the crazy people who had to have all my pokemon from Ruby/Saphire/Emerald. I haven't played it in ages but it may be worth picking up Diamond again. So far, how is Platinum? Would it be worth picking up?"So far its mostly the same as D/P but with a few changes. If you liked D/P chances are you will also like Platinum. ..and since you, like me, played all of the 3rd generation pokemon games, you'll probably enjoy this as well.
"LiquidPrince said:I tried getting into Diamond, and it seemed like a solid, quality title, but somehow, yeah. Too much to do. Too many new Pokémon. I wouldn't hesitate a second to play a remake of Blue/Red, but these new pokemanz, meh."I stopped playing Pokemon after they changed it from the original 151 Pokemon."This"
"Black_Rose said:How is that a bad thing? ..too much to do? I can understand you dont like there being another pack of pokemon, since many of them is uninspiring."LiquidPrince said:I tried getting into Diamond, and it seemed like a solid, quality title, but somehow, yeah. That game would be in my hand right now if someone never stole my DS at Cadet Camp... oh well I'll buy a DSI later and pick up this and Chinatown Wars.
