Got it early from a friend at Gamestop. I didnt beat Diamond but got pretty far. Platinum seems to be more of the same. Well, the same with minor tweaks. But i cant really say yet. Have only been playing for an hour or so. Up until now there has been som changes to the way you get your first pokemon. Havnt seen any other changes than that. But its nice that it isnt completly the same as Diamond/Pearl.

Anyone else getting this game or playing it already?

Meh. i have somewhat enjoyed Diamond, but I don't need another Pokemon game right now. I am sure the fans will enjoy it, but I will skip it. GTA: CW instead.

But your right. It really only is for people who cant get enough. The only reason im playing it is because i got it from a friend at GS. I dont think i would have bought it if i didnt.

Since I have not played Pokemon for a couple years I'm picking this up. I pre-ordered Platinum as well as a black DSi since I don't currently own a DS. (Had one, sold it, you know the drill.) I hope this is good.

Its definitly good. If you havnt played any of the 4th generation Pokemon games and enjoyed the 3rd generation you are going to like this, im sure! :)

Nah, I don't think there's enough of a difference from Diamond/Pearl to warrant a purchase for me.

I have no special ways of getting it early so I won't be playing it until Sunday, but that's fine with me since I have Chinatown Wars to consume my time at the moment.

Yeah, I'm the kind that gets a pokemon game and spends around 100 hours with it, porting over all my pokemon and such.

To much of the same for me, the beginning is even the same as the original GB one but instead og having a snes you have a Wii in your room.

So i guess you have caught your share of legendaries, right? Am i doing it wrong i have to waste an insane amount of time and pokeballs to catch one? It seems so ridicules that i have to throw about 100 ultraballs and a dozen retrys to get them. Sigh...! :O

Yeah, those where the days. Seems they are low on original ideas. I mean, if you make a pokemon look like a manhole, then... :o

I got the urge to play Pokemon sometime a week or two ago, I even pre-ordered platinum but ended up canceling and just booting up Pokemon Blue on an old GBA. My biggest problem came from the fact that the entire Pokedex is different, I felt like I didn't know any of the new monsters. In Platinum is it possible to get more classic Pokemon? Or am I stuck with all the new and strange ones?

No, theres also many pokemons from previous games.

I think I'll get it eventually, but probably not too soon because I haven't finished pearl yet.  I got that more than a full year ago, put in over 50 hours, then just stopped.

Yep, 151 was enough for me. But I always wanted to try a new Pokemon game on the DS even though I have no interest in it whatsoever."

I played FireRed a few years ago and I think I'm done with Pokemon until they do  something radically different with the franchise.

I love Pokemon but I usually only get one game from each generation and right now I think I'm fine with my Diamond version.

I played plenty of Diamond, and was one of the crazy people who had to have all my pokemon from Ruby/Saphire/Emerald. I haven't played it in ages but it may be worth picking up Diamond again. So far, how is Platinum? Would it be worth picking up?

i dunno.   For some reason i am loving this way more than i did Pearl which i also loved but did not play as much of as i did with previous titles.  I think i am hooked with this game though ;O

That game would be in my hand right now if someone never stole my DS at Cadet Camp... oh well I'll buy a DSI later and pick up this and Chinatown Wars.
