I bought what I thought was a real Sony Dualshock 3 on ebay which turned out to be a fake chinese POS. None of the big box stores sell them anymore. Help me out guys.

@acura_max: And they seem to get shipped and sold mainly from a storefront called Direct Distributor that have a 98% positive feedback rate. Though there are a bunch of negative reviews about fake controllers, many of them could have bought from different sellers.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting a fake controller from Amazon as long as you are buying from a respected seller.

Yeah i say that Amazon one should be fine since they have good feedback. Worst case you return it, which it fairly painless with Amazon. I was going to suggest using a DS4 as a replacement, but it looks like there are a lot of missing features.

A lot of those reviews are saying that controller is a fake.

You can get pre-owned controllers from Gamestop.com, which is not ideal but it's an option in a pinch.

Also, this is news to me. If you had asked me about new PS3 controllers 20 minutes ago, I'd have told you they're still pretty easy to come by.
