The name Palestine is ultimately derived from "Peleset", the name the ancient Egyptians used to refer to the region in the 12th century BC.
The most well-known Palestinian historical figure was Jesus Christ, who hailed from the Palestinian towns of Bethleham and Nazareth.
Much of what was formerly known as Palestine is today known as Israel.
In video games, the original Assassin's Creed is set in Jerusalem, which was then part of Palestine.
