    Oh Dear

With its clunky game play , Bugged AI and a non-existent storyline ,Operation Flashpoint fall far from its predecessor by a mile. Now don't get me wrong if your looking for a quick FPS to play then Op Flashpoint:Dragon Rising is worth the play. But don't go in expecting anything more than a standard first person shooter as you will be most disappointed. I played this game after hearing all of the hype about the use of tactical vantage points , and your amazing AI squad to help bring missions to a controlled end, Military style. But the more you play the more you start realising what a let down it really is. The AI seem to have a death wish. Everytime you crouch they just stand right back up again. They fire randomly into enemy's without order to do so, I played the whole game without using them to my advantage and completed the game in 4 and a bit hours on hard.

A lot of reviews seem to be bigging this game up , but I review this game having played the first operation flashpoint and ranking up some silly hours in doing so.

What else is wrong with this game you ask? There is no storyline , And the game is not a strong enough military sim to not have one. There are bazillions of bugs throughout the game , some small , small huge. I found myself having to restart the map all over again in some cases.

The multi player is a massive let down. I was eagerly anticipating killing hundreds of dudes using my team mates and I , giving one another tactical points on the map , but no. there are 2 game types, Co-op , Which is just the storyline with real players instead of your bugged AI. This is welcomed and if you get a good enough team together can be enjoyable. The other game type is a capture the base type game , two times struggle to control the building. This mode sadly lacks any fun. What the multi player should have been is the likes of Joint Operations.

The game is set in an open scaled environment. Yet you hardly, if ever get to use this to your advantage. With all this being said , this is purely a review for the Xbox360 version. With mods already coming out improving on AI for the pc , then the PC version looks set to rule the roost.

I will say play this game , just don't go in expecting to see a god like game , when all you will be playing is a frustrating , bugged game with the feel that its been pumped out half finished.

This game was bursting with potential and has fallen far short of my expectations.

    Final score 6.7 / 10 .

Understand it and enjoy it 0

In order to fully enjoy Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, you have to go into it with the right mindset, knowing what it is, and what it isn’t. What it is is a great military simulation game that will make you think and strategize to overcome it, and that if you have the patience, will reward you for it. What it is not is the next big online, high-intensity, over-the-top first person shooter. And, if that’s OK with you, you will surely find something to enjoy in Dragon Rising.    The island...

      Impressivly Dissapointing 0

Look at the feature set of what this game has to offer; a 220 KM2 island to explore which is entirely seamless, you can travel from one end to the other without need of a loading screen. 70 weapons and weapon variations, 40 vehicles including boats and helicopters, 300m draw distances, destructible cover and buildings, fumes of smoke pouring out of burnt tanks which last for hours... It must have been quite a task to fit all this into a game, streaming technology for environments as big as this...
